Baseball split a doubleheader with Fairleigh Dickinson as
junior Michael Marmo was 3-for-6 in the with a homerun,
three RBI and four runs scored in both games. Freshman
Ben Farina was 4-for-9 in both games with three RBI and a
run scored.
The cheerleading team records its fourth top-10 national
finish in as many years at the NCA Cheer and Dance
Championships in Daytona, FL. After finishing eighth in
2005, tenth in 2006, and fifth last year, Quinnipiac finished
sixth overall this year.
April 12: Five men’s outdoor track athletes set personalbests
at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by the University
of New Hampshire. Andrew Neumeister ran a 59.18 in
the 400 Meter Hurdles, Tyler Dinnan finished 4th with a
time of 1:56.79 in the 800 Meter Run while Jacob Gurzler
finished 5th at 1:57:70 in the race. Keith Bushey finished
5th in the 1500 Meter Run at 4:03.51 while Jack McDonald
finished in 7th place at 4:07.02.
At the Wildcat Invitational, women’s outdoor track senior
Abbey Gosling returned to her home state and broke the
school record in the 3000 Meter Steeple Chase with a time
of 11:24. Gosling finished first in the event and beat the
previous school record by five seconds. Chelsea Bollerman
won the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:42.50.
Baseball sweeps Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-2 and 14-4, as Pete
Kummerfeldt hits his team leading sixth homerun of the
season. The round-tripper also makes Kummerfeldt the
11th player in Quinnipiac history to hit 20 homeruns over a
career.
April 13: Men’s lacrosse sophomore Todd Kaiser scored
the game-winner in overtime to knock off Air Force, 11-10,
in a Great Western Lacrosse League win. Sophomore Bill
Hayes scored with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to
send the game to overtime.
Women’s lacrosse clinched a share of their first-ever Northeast
Conference Regular-Season Championship with a 12-4
win over Mount St. Mary’s. Junior Tiffany Manzi scored
four goals in the win.
April 14: Women’s lacrosse junior Tiffany Manzi was
named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week while
sophomore Hannah Nelson was named the NEC Defensive
Player of the Week.
April 16: Men’s tennis freshman Brian Mikkelson was
named Prince/Northeast Conference Player of the Week.

#2 Men’s Tennis defeated Saint Francis (Pa.) and Monmouth
to advance to the Northeast Conference Championship.
Baseball freshman Anes Koummal and junior Michael
Marmo hit back-to-back homeruns in a 10-7 loss to Vermont.
The homer is Koummal’s first of his career.
April 17: Men’s lacrosse head coach Eric Fekete was
selected to coach the North team in the 2008 United States
Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South All-Star
Game.
April 18: Women’s lacrosse sophomore goalie Hannah
Nelson was named to the WomensLacrosse.com Weekly
Honor Roll.
In an 18-5 loss to Monmouth, baseball junior Michael Marmo
hits two homeruns, giving him three over two games.
April 19: Women’s outdoor track Junior Chelsea Bollerman
finished 2nd overall in the 800 Meter race at the UConn
Spring Invitational. Susan Ashe set a new personal best in
the 1500 meter race as she finished 5th overall with a time
of 4:50.48. Abbey Gosling set a personal best of 4:57.42 as
she finished three spots back of her teammate in 8th place.
Softball sophomore Emily Bellush hit a walk-off RBI
double in the first game of doubleheader sweep of Georgetown
on Senior Day at Bobcat Field.
April 20: Field Hockey won the 2007 Longstreth Field
Hockey Cup Challenge after they finished 3rd in 2006 and
2nd in 2005.
