<strong>NCAA</strong> First and Second Rounds at Miami • <strong>May</strong> 9-10, <strong>2008</strong><br />
Sacred Heart, 10-9.<br />
Baseball split a doubleheader with Fairleigh Dickinson as<br />
junior Michael Marmo was 3-for-6 in the with a homerun,<br />
three RBI and four runs scored in both games. Freshman<br />
Ben Farina was 4-for-9 in both games with three RBI and a<br />
run scored.<br />
The cheerleading team records its fourth top-10 national<br />
finish in as many years at the NCA Cheer and Dance<br />
Championships in Daytona, FL. After finishing eighth in<br />
2005, tenth in 2006, and fifth last year, <strong>Quinnipiac</strong> finished<br />
sixth overall this year.<br />
April 12: Five men’s outdoor track athletes set personalbests<br />
at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by the <strong>University</strong><br />
of New Hampshire. Andrew Neumeister ran a 59.18 in<br />
the 400 Meter Hurdles, Tyler Dinnan finished 4th with a<br />
time of 1:56.79 in the 800 Meter Run while Jacob Gurzler<br />
finished 5th at 1:57:70 in the race. Keith Bushey finished<br />
5th in the 1500 Meter Run at 4:03.51 while Jack McDonald<br />
finished in 7th place at 4:07.02.<br />
At the Wildcat Invitational, women’s outdoor track senior<br />
Abbey Gosling returned to her home state and broke the<br />
school record in the 3000 Meter Steeple Chase with a time<br />
of 11:24. Gosling finished first in the event and beat the<br />
previous school record by five seconds. Chelsea Bollerman<br />
won the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:42.50.<br />
Baseball sweeps Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-2 and 14-4, as Pete<br />
Kummerfeldt hits his team leading sixth homerun of the<br />
season. The round-tripper also makes Kummerfeldt the<br />
11th player in <strong>Quinnipiac</strong> history to hit 20 homeruns over a<br />
career.<br />
April 13: Men’s lacrosse sophomore Todd Kaiser scored<br />
the game-winner in overtime to knock off Air Force, 11-10,<br />
in a Great Western Lacrosse League win. Sophomore Bill<br />
Hayes scored with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to<br />
send the game to overtime.<br />
Women’s lacrosse clinched a share of their first-ever Northeast<br />
Conference Regular-Season Championship with a 12-4<br />
win over Mount St. Mary’s. Junior Tiffany Manzi scored<br />
four goals in the win.<br />
April 14: Women’s lacrosse junior Tiffany Manzi was<br />
named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week while<br />
sophomore Hannah Nelson was named the NEC Defensive<br />
Player of the Week.<br />
April 16: Men’s tennis freshman Brian Mikkelson was<br />
named Prince/Northeast Conference Player of the Week.<br />

#2 Men’s Tennis defeated Saint Francis (Pa.) and Monmouth<br />
to advance to the Northeast Conference Championship.<br />
Baseball freshman Anes Koummal and junior Michael<br />
Marmo hit back-to-back homeruns in a 10-7 loss to Vermont.<br />
The homer is Koummal’s first of his career.<br />
April 17: Men’s lacrosse head coach Eric Fekete was<br />
selected to coach the North team in the <strong>2008</strong> United States<br />
Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South All-Star<br />
Game.<br />
April 18: Women’s lacrosse sophomore goalie Hannah<br />
Nelson was named to the WomensLacrosse.com Weekly<br />
Honor Roll.<br />
In an 18-5 loss to Monmouth, baseball junior Michael Marmo<br />
hits two homeruns, giving him three over two games.<br />
April 19: Women’s outdoor track Junior Chelsea Bollerman<br />
finished 2nd overall in the 800 Meter race at the UConn<br />
Spring Invitational. Susan Ashe set a new personal best in<br />
the 1500 meter race as she finished 5th overall with a time<br />
of 4:50.48. Abbey Gosling set a personal best of 4:57.42 as<br />
she finished three spots back of her teammate in 8th place.<br />
Softball sophomore Emily Bellush hit a walk-off RBI<br />
double in the first game of doubleheader sweep of Georgetown<br />
on Senior Day at Bobcat Field.<br />
April 20: Field Hockey won the 2007 Longstreth Field<br />
Hockey Cup Challenge after they finished 3rd in 2006 and<br />
2nd in 2005.
