Description of the plant and its location:
● Zingiber officinale: See under chapter 26.
● Areca catechu: A tall slender unbranched palm with a crown of leaves. It is
cultivated throughout India.
● Piper nigrum: See plant no. 18.
● Nicotiana tabacum: A glandular, pubescent erect herb with few branches;
leaves are simple and ovate. It has many seeds, many with fluted ridges, and
is cultivated in the hotter parts of India.
