one compact and complete programme.You will see <strong>the</strong> best<br />

known sights in Beijing, <strong>the</strong> former imperial capital of Xian and<br />

cosmopolitan Shanghai. In addition, admire <strong>the</strong> landscapes of <strong>the</strong><br />

Li River’s unique limestone mountains and charming countryside<br />

Days 1-4: <strong>UK</strong> - Shanghai<br />

Fly to Shanghai known as “The Paris of <strong>the</strong><br />

East” and relax before beginning your<br />

explorations <strong>the</strong> next morning. See <strong>the</strong><br />

Shanghai Museum and <strong>the</strong> famous Bund<br />

before enjoying a welcome dinner of<br />

traditional Shanghai cuisine. Next day visit Yu<br />

Gardens and Old Town, <strong>the</strong> Pudong area,<br />

explore Xintiandi with its 1920’s style<br />

“Shikumen” buildings. Enjoy a Huangpu River<br />

Cruise in <strong>the</strong> evening.<br />

Day 5: Shanghai - Guilin<br />

Morning at leisure before flying to<br />

beautiful Guilin.<br />

Days 6-7: Li River Cruise - Yangshuo<br />

Relax on <strong>the</strong> spectacular Li River Cruise<br />

whilst enjoying <strong>the</strong> panoramic views of<br />

limestone formations towering above <strong>the</strong><br />

river. Spend <strong>the</strong> night in Yangshuo and<br />

enjoy <strong>the</strong> colourful local markets before<br />

returning to Guilin where you will visit <strong>the</strong><br />

Reed Flute Caves.<br />

Days 8-9: Guilin - Xian<br />

Visit Mt Diecai to view <strong>the</strong> dramatic<br />

landscape before flying to Xian to enjoy<br />

traditional Shui Jiao cuisine.<br />

phenomenon that is <strong>the</strong> Terracotta<br />

Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to<br />

China. Walk <strong>the</strong> Great Wall, and tour <strong>the</strong><br />

Temple of Heaven.The following morning<br />

take a rickshaw tour through traditional<br />

Summer Palace. Evening entertainment will<br />

Day 14: Beijing - <strong>UK</strong><br />
