THE BUND AT DAWN, SHANGHAI
From £2,290 - 16 Days - Fully Inclusive from the UK
China’s vast east coast, the “Pacific Rim” is where you will find these
great cities. From Beijing in the north, travel south to cosmopolitan
Shanghai and on that journey you will discover the former ancient
capital of Xian. Break your journey with visits to delightful
Hangzhou and Guilin whose smaller charms will capture you
equally. We will also visit Mt Huang - China’s holiest mountain.
Days 1-2: UK - Beijing
Fly to Beijing. Enjoy a welcoming dinner
which includes the speciality Peking Duck.
Days 3-4: Beijing
Stroll in Tiananmen Square, the world’s
largest public square. Continue on to the
treasure filled Forbidden City. The following
day’s highlight will be your chance to “Walk”
the Great Wall and will also include a tour
of the unique Temple of Heaven.
Days 5-6: Beijing - Xian
Some all-important shopping in the morning
at the bustling Markets and then a visit to the
Summer Palace. Later fly to Xian the former
imperial capital for 2 nights. In the morning
you will visit the Terracotta Warriors, built
over 2000 years ago to accompany Emperor
Qin Shihuang into the afterlife.Then on to
the historic City Wall that encircles the City.
A stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter is
next with a visit to the Great Mosque and
the Islamic food markets. A Tang Dynasty
dancing show tonight.
Day 7: Xian - Hangzhou
We visit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda and
Shaanxi Museum then fly to Hangzhou.
Day 8: Hangzhou
Visit the Temple of Inspired Seclusion and
the Six Harmonies Pagoda. Enjoy a relaxing
afternoon on beautiful West Lake.

Days 9-10: Hangzhou - Mt Huang
By coach first to a true natural wonder,
Mt Huang. To the Summit by Cable Car for
fabulous views of strange rock formations
and thousand year old trees wreathed in
mists that have inspired countless artists.
Spend 2 nights at Mt Huang; one night at
the summit and the other in the town of
Tunxi at the mountain's foot.
Days 11-12: Mt Huang - Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai, China’s ‘Paris of the East’
for a 2 night stay. Enjoy a welcoming dinner
of sumptuous Shanghai cuisine. Next
morning visit the delightful Yu Gardens
then to the Old Town, the Shanghai
Museum and the famous Bund. In the
evening we take a cruise along the
panoramic Huangpu River.
Days 13-14: Shanghai - Guilin
See the unique “Shikumen” Buildings
(1920’s style) before travelling over the
Nanpu Bridge to see the Pudong Area.
Afterwards fly on to the beautiful city of
Guilin for 2 nights. In the morning you
will be off on a wonderful cruise on the
Li River; admire the stunning limestone
columns that tower above the river
creating magical landscapes.
Days 15-16: Guilin - UK
Visit the stunning Reed Flute Caves and
Mt Diecai before an overnight flight home.
