pICassIEtTE HOUSE
An extraordinary example of naïve art, this house
was completely decorated - inside and out - by its
owner, Raymond Isidore, with mosaics made from
pieces of broken crockery.
open every day except on tuesdays and Sunday

The Archaeology Museum is the unique place
to discover Chartres' history, former capital of
the "carnutes", which became a high place of
the middle Ages. exhibitions, junior or school
activities, events... open the doors of a unknown
past. not to be missed: the exhibition "Ça s' est
cassé près de chez vous".
Open during the exhibition on Wednesdays
and Sundays: 2pm- 5pm. Commented tours and
activities for children on request.
Closed from December 23 rd 2013 to January 2 nd 2014

mEDIa LIBrary "L'apostrophE"
Located in the heart of the town, the media
library, "l' Apostrophe" opened in may 2007. the
building, a former post office, was erected by Raoul
Brandon in 1927. The architect Paul Chemetov was
in charge of its renovation and refurbishment in
2004. The media library offers a wide range of
events throughout the year (exhibitions, lectures,
workshops…) but also entertainment for children
(tales, movie projections…).
Open from Tuesday to Friday: 10am- 7pm. On
Saturdays: 10am-6pm. Summer hours: from
Tuesday to Friday: 1.30pm- 7pm. On Saturdays:
10am-6pm. Closed on Thursday mornings.
