An extraordinary example of naïve art, this house<br />

was completely <strong>de</strong>corated - insi<strong>de</strong> and out - by its<br />

owner, Raymond Isidore, with mosaics ma<strong>de</strong> from<br />

pieces of broken crockery.<br />

open every day except on tuesdays and Sunday<br />

The Archaeology Museum is <strong>the</strong> unique place<br />

<strong>to</strong> discover <strong>Chartres</strong>' his<strong>to</strong>ry, former capital of<br />

<strong>the</strong> "carnutes", which became a high place of<br />

<strong>the</strong> middle Ages. exhibitions, junior or school<br />

activities, events... open <strong>the</strong> doors of a unknown<br />

past. not <strong>to</strong> be missed: <strong>the</strong> exhibition "Ça s' est<br />

cassé près <strong>de</strong> chez vous".<br />

Open during <strong>the</strong> exhibition on Wednesdays<br />

and Sundays: 2pm- 5pm. Commented <strong>to</strong>urs and<br />

activities for children on request.<br />

mEDIa LIBrary "L'apostrophE"<br />

Located in <strong>the</strong> heart of <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>wn, <strong>the</strong> media<br />

library, "l' Apostrophe" opened in may 2007. <strong>the</strong><br />

building, a former post office, was erected by Raoul<br />

Brandon in 1927. The architect Paul Cheme<strong>to</strong>v was<br />

in charge of its renovation and refurbishment in<br />

2004. The media library offers a wi<strong>de</strong> range of<br />

events throughout <strong>the</strong> year (exhibitions, lectures,<br />

workshops…) but also entertainment for children<br />

(tales, movie projections…).<br />

Open from Tuesday <strong>to</strong> Friday: 10am- 7pm. On<br />

Saturdays: 10am-6pm. Summer hours: from<br />

Tuesday <strong>to</strong> Friday: 1.30pm- 7pm. On Saturdays:<br />
