this is <strong>the</strong> largest museum in europe <strong>de</strong>dicated <strong>to</strong><br />
agriculture. it is housed in a former engine shred and<br />
explains past and present rural practices on 3,000 Sq<br />
m. and features a unique collection of agricultural<br />
<strong>to</strong>ols and machines. a lively and interactive<br />
presentation and temporary exhibitions help visi<strong>to</strong>rs<br />
<strong>to</strong> un<strong>de</strong>rstand <strong>the</strong> relations between food, farming,<br />
environment... <strong>the</strong> agriculture museum also offers,<br />
during school vacation and on <strong>the</strong> first Wednesday<br />
of <strong>the</strong> month, workshops for children aged between<br />

at 50 m from <strong>the</strong> ca<strong>the</strong>dral, this unique centre,<br />
foun<strong>de</strong>d in 1980, is located in <strong>the</strong> former “Grange<br />
aux dîmes”, a 13th pass’<br />
century medieval s<strong>to</strong>rehouse,<br />
listed his<strong>to</strong>rical monument. it reveals <strong>the</strong> secrets of<br />
<strong>the</strong> stained-glass windows art, an art which has its<br />
schools, its masters. through exhibitions about old<br />
and contemporary stained-glass windows, initiation<br />
courses for children and adults, visits and lectures<br />
and a workshop open <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> public, <strong>the</strong>re are <strong>the</strong><br />
complex and fascinating skills of this art which<br />
become reachable. permanent exhibition “vitraux <strong>de</strong><br />

on <strong>the</strong> way <strong>to</strong> dammarie<br />
european place of memory, <strong>the</strong> “Seminary behind<br />
Barbed Wire” is <strong>the</strong> largest seminary which has<br />
existed. it is established at <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> Second<br />
World War in a former transit camp for french<br />
prisoners before <strong>the</strong> <strong>de</strong>parture <strong>to</strong> Germany and<br />
a retention camp for “indigenous” war prisoners<br />
(1940-1944) , and <strong>the</strong>n, at <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> war, a camp<br />
for war prisoners of <strong>the</strong> Axis. Became university of<br />
<strong>the</strong>ology in 1945, it houses more than 950 German<br />
seminarians between 1945 and 1947. nowadays, it<br />
allows people <strong>to</strong> discover <strong>the</strong> his<strong>to</strong>ry of franz S<strong>to</strong>ck<br />
but also, through contemporary pho<strong>to</strong>graphs and<br />
objects, <strong>the</strong> his<strong>to</strong>ry of <strong>the</strong> site.<br />
