(LE Compa) pass’
this is the largest museum in europe dedicated to
agriculture. it is housed in a former engine shred and
explains past and present rural practices on 3,000 Sq
m. and features a unique collection of agricultural
tools and machines. a lively and interactive
presentation and temporary exhibitions help visitors
to understand the relations between food, farming,
environment... the agriculture museum also offers,
during school vacation and on the first Wednesday
of the month, workshops for children aged between
4 and 10.
open from tuesday to friday: 9am-12.30pm and
1.30pm-6pm; weekends and bank holidays: 10am-
12.30pm and 1.30pm-7pm. closed on mondays and
on 1/01, 1/05, 1/11 and 25/12.
Prices: €3.80; students, teachers and seniors: €3;
people aged between 6 and 18: €1.50 – free for
children under 6.

at 50 m from the cathedral, this unique centre,
founded in 1980, is located in the former “Grange
aux dîmes”, a 13th pass’
century medieval storehouse,
listed historical monument. it reveals the secrets of
the stained-glass windows art, an art which has its
schools, its masters. through exhibitions about old
and contemporary stained-glass windows, initiation
courses for children and adults, visits and lectures
and a workshop open to the public, there are the
complex and fascinating skills of this art which
become reachable. permanent exhibition “vitraux de
la renaissance”.

european place of memory, the “Seminary behind
Barbed Wire” is the largest seminary which has
existed. it is established at the end of the Second
World War in a former transit camp for french
prisoners before the departure to Germany and
a retention camp for “indigenous” war prisoners
(1940-1944) , and then, at the end of the war, a camp
for war prisoners of the Axis. Became university of
theology in 1945, it houses more than 950 German
seminarians between 1945 and 1947. nowadays, it
allows people to discover the history of franz Stock
but also, through contemporary photographs and
objects, the history of the site.
open from 1/04 to 31/10, on Wednesdays and
Saturdays: 2.30pm- 5pm; from 1/11 to 31/03, on
Wednesdays and Saturdays: 2.30pm-4pm. on the
other days for schools and groups: on request. last
visit one hour before closing time.

botanic, local geology, mineralogy, paleontology,
local prehistory and entomology collections. it
also offers educational activities related to wildlife,
nature and prehistory. these activities are all
available as part of the “Pass’ Jeune” scheme.
