Fletcher Cup. The reserves went about their work
again this weekend with a good 7 nil win over
Northern. The boys put the game to bed in the first
half with a display of good attacking football. The 2nd
half was slightly more even with the foot coming off
the accelerator a wee bit however a good all round
performance. Tim
Third Division, 3rds had a bit of a messy win.
Started with gusto and played some good football,
and but then started to succumbing to old age and
injuries. Able to hold out Green Island in the 2nd half
despite them having a fair share of possession.
Lucky we got up 3-0 first half, to hang on and win 3-1.
4th Division, Nothing much to say this week. Not
just because I’m so loaded with pain killers that I can
barely see the keyboard and can’t remember what I
did an hour ago let alone yesterday afternoon. There
just was not anything worth mentioning from a Smeg
supporters point of view. We couldn’t get eleven fit people onto the field, we couldn’t
pass the ball, we couldn’t tackle, we could’nt
shoot and Tech scored three times from four
shots in the first twenty minutes. Tech played
well and deserved the win while we picked up
another two injuries to add to our woes. At
this rate I’m predicting we won’t be able to
field a team by June. Tech 6 Smeg 2. Shane
5th Division, The Phoenix fought out
a well deserved 3 all draw with Green Island.
A great result as it is always a struggle out at
Sunnyvale. The Eagles continued on their
winning ways with an easy 5 nil win over
Mornington.
Masters, The over 35s continue to
struggle with another loss against a strong
Hobbits side being beaten comprehensively
4-1. It was tight up until halftime where the
score was 1 all but the Hobbits ran
away with it in
the second half.
