The 1sts had a very tricky
Chatham cup encounter vs
Northern Hearts.
Six Minutes in they were
1 nil up, through a gem of a strike
– an own goal from the Heart’s
centre back. Tom McLean doubled
the lead minutes later with a
power drive into the corner. The
first good start of the season for
the lads meant they had to
weather a fight back, as Hearts
dominated possession
culminating in a goal shortly
before the half.
The two Cam’s then
combined well in a quick counter
and cross which Cam McPhail
finished well to restore the 2 goal
cushion. In the 2 nd half James
O’Callaghan added a forth (and
another to his personal tally)
curling one into the top corner and
the victory. POD Cam Higgins.
The 2nds had a seven nil
drubbing at the hands of
Caversham – least said soonest
mended. The 3As struggled
through their first half vs Tech.
After an inspired substitution by player/coach Marc (he brought himself on!) the
game changed rapidly with 2 quick goals. Final Score 5 nil.
The 3Bs were less fortunate going down 2-1 to Melchester. A sending off
and a caution not helping the lads so 10 vs 12 is always an uphill battle.
The 4As had a 3-1 loss to Melchester – no news from that front!!
The 4Bs had a struggle to beat Roslyn Black. The lads rose above the aggro and
played football. They scored early through Mike who had a strong game, The
club’s youth is looking good. Fitness and style proved decisive on the day. The
