Itinerary<br />
Sunday<br />
We rendezvous in Paris and transfer to the barge<br />
in a private air-conditioned minibus. Welcome<br />
Aboard with champagne and canapés before our<br />
Welcome Dinner.<br />
Overnight Mooring: Tanlay<br />
Monday<br />
A morning cruise through the Burgundian<br />
countryside to Lezinnes, with the option to take a<br />
leisurely walk along the towpath. After lunch on<br />
board we visit the 16th Century Renaissance-style<br />
Château de Tanlay for a guided tour of this<br />
beautiful castle.<br />

B<br />
uilt in 1930 to carry freight on the<br />
canals, the barge was converted into a<br />
hotel and now has seven luxury cabins<br />
complete with marble-tiled bathrooms, and<br />
public rooms including a saloon/dining room<br />
and sun deck with Jacuzzi hot tub.<br />
Tuesday<br />
A canal-side walk passes ancient villages and the<br />
vineyards of Chablis. After lunch, we take a late<br />
afternoon walk through forests and slopes<br />
covered in vineyards ablaze with autumn colors.<br />
We visit the 13th century Hotel Dieu.<br />
Overnight Mooring: Ancy le Franc<br />
Wednesday<br />
We visit Noyers sur Serein, one of the most<br />
beautiful villages in France, to enjoy the<br />
wonderful market. We wander the medieval<br />
streets and ramparts before returning to the<br />
barge for lunch. In the afternoon we enjoy a lazy<br />
cruise or take a circular walk through the<br />
Burgundian countryside.<br />
Overnight Mooring: Ravieres<br />
Thursday<br />
We walk through woodland and rolling fields to a<br />
ruined castle. We visit the renowned Abbey de<br />
Fontenay founded by St Bernard in 1118. A late<br />
afternoon walk brings us to the ancient town of<br />
Montbard.<br />
Overnight Mooring: Montbard<br />
Friday<br />
We pass fields of Charolais cattle and walk<br />
through the hamlet of Benoisey to Grignan to<br />
rejoin the barge, with stunning vistas across the<br />
valley of the Brenne and the Canal du Bourgogne.<br />
We visit the fascinating walled hilltop village of<br />
Flavigny sur Ozerain, where the film ‘Chocolat’<br />
was made. We return to the barge for the<br />
Captain’s Farewell Dinner .<br />
Overnight Mooring: Venarey les Laume<br />
Saturday<br />
After breakfast, we disembark the barge and take<br />
a private transfer to Paris.<br />
