Lenka and Mato were amazing. With
them and our other walkers from the
U.S. we were one happy family. It was a
joy to be with everyone each day.
I was widowed at 62. My husband and I
loved to travel, and I have been
struggling to re-invent myself as a
single person (not easy). I think I’ve
found my travel niche in Wayfarers. I
felt very comfortable being a single
person. Even though the other four
walkers were couples, I did not feel like
a fifth wheel.’

What was your favorite aspect of the Walk?
‘All of it but especially the walk through the
forest on the way to Unterammergau, the tour at
the Passion Play theater and the organ concert at
the small church on the women’s island in
Chiemsee.’
