Itinerary
Sunday
We rendezvous at Palermo for the short
jour ney to our hotel on the quayside at
Bonagia. Introductory Talk and Welcome Dinner.
Overnight: Bonagia, Hotel Tonnara di Bonagia
Monday
We take a boat across the bay to the Nature
Reserve Park of Monte Cofano and walk in the
wild and rugged beauty of this unspoilt coastline.
We drive to Erice for a walking tour of this
medieval walled mountain town.
Overnight: Bonagia, Hotel Tonnara di Bonagia
Tuesday
We walk on the coastal path of the Lo Zingaro
Nature Reserve, to lunch in the delightful village
of Scopello. We drive to Marsala and visit the
renowned Florio winery.
Overnight: Marsala, Hotel Carmine
Optional Opportunities
Wednesday
We board the ferry to the Isle of Mozia and explore the
ancient Phoenician settlement. After a picnic lunch, we
return to the main island to walk along the lagoon
through the saltpans. Dinner at a local ristorante.

Thursday
We visit Segesta to see the great Doric Temple and the
Theatre dating from the 3rd century BC – two of the
most stunningly sited Classical monuments in the
world. We stop en route for an organic lunch at a
farmhouse.
Overnight: Menfi, La Foresteria
Friday
This morning we have a choice: Opt to visit Agrigento
for a guided walking tour of the magnificent Valley of
the Temples. Or a lovely walk in the countryside,
through olive groves and vineyards with lovely views.
After lunch, we all visit the temples at Selinunte,
another of the most impressive archaeological sites in
the Mediterranean. We return to our hotel for our
Farewell Dinner.
Overnight: Menfi, La Foresteria
Saturday
We return to Palermo and say “arrivederci” to those
leaving us.
