Sunday<br />

We rendezvous at Palermo for the short<br />

jour ney to our hotel on the quayside at<br />

Bonagia. Introductory Talk and Welcome Dinner.<br />

Overnight: Bonagia, Hotel Tonnara di Bonagia<br />

Monday<br />

We take a boat across the bay to the Nature<br />

Reserve Park of Monte Cofano and walk in the<br />

wild and rugged beauty of this unspoilt coastline.<br />

We drive to Erice for a walking tour of this<br />

medieval walled mountain town.<br />

Overnight: Bonagia, Hotel Tonnara di Bonagia<br />

Tuesday<br />

We walk on the coastal path of the Lo Zingaro<br />

Nature Reserve, to lunch in the delightful village<br />

of Scopello. We drive to Marsala and visit the<br />

renowned Florio winery.<br />

Wednesday<br />

We board the ferry to the Isle of Mozia and explore the<br />

ancient Phoenician settlement. After a picnic lunch, we<br />

return to the main island to walk along the lagoon<br />

through the saltpans. Dinner at a local ristorante.<br />

Thursday<br />

We visit Segesta to see the great Doric Temple and the<br />

<strong>The</strong>atre dating from the 3rd century BC – two of the<br />

most stunningly sited Classical monuments in the<br />

world. We stop en route for an organic lunch at a<br />

farmhouse.<br />

Overnight: Menfi, La Foresteria<br />

Friday<br />

This morning we have a choice: Opt to visit Agrigento<br />

for a guided walking tour of the magnificent Valley of<br />

the Temples. Or a lovely walk in the countryside,<br />

through olive groves and vineyards with lovely views.<br />

After lunch, we all visit the temples at Selinunte,<br />

another of the most impressive archaeological sites in<br />

the Mediterranean. We return to our hotel for our<br />

Farewell Dinner.<br />

Saturday<br />

We return to Palermo and say “arrivederci” to those<br />

leaving us.<br />
