BUSINESS PRACTICES OPERATIONS SUPPORT Operations support of client facilities is a growing and increasingly important segment of Hatch’s range of services. The objective on behalf of our clients is to create value from within existing assets, through the optimization of the operation processes, equipment, and maintenance functions or through the management of new or sustaining capital programs. Today, Hatch has 1,000 professionals permanently located within our client’s operations around the world, working seamlessly with client teams in the pursuit of common operational and business objectives. Ultimately the objective is the continuous improvement of production facilities. The majority of Hatch’s operational-support work is associated with the management of capital development programs within large integrated operations, where the skills and resources of a global engineering and project delivery company can contribute to the efficient management of significant annual capital. The resulting value is driven by engineering solutions measured in throughput and operational efficiency. In today’s strained commodity markets where resource companies are challenged to find adequate and competent people, many companies are looking for new solutions to maintaining and achieving operational excellence. This search for excellence has created a challenging and stimulating environment for both Hatch’s and our clients’ operational staff. Our major Operations Support clients are Alcoa, Rio Tinto and BlueScope Steel. SYSTEMS & PROCESS CONTROL Realizing the convergence of technologies between Systems and Process Control in the context of Hatch’s deep industry expertise in metallurgical processes, energy, chemical, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects, the S&PC practice is uniquely positioned to meet all industrial automation & control, operational systems and optimization needs. Our global presence of more than 500 professionals with substantial experience across the entire spectrum from process control to business systems allows us to identify and deliver solutions ranging from basic measurement and control to plant-wide operational systems and integration. Capitalizing on Hatch’s process, operational and business expertise, Systems & Process Control is also focused on providing services and solutions for operational and process optimization. We Serve Our Clients by: • working with the client to establish business requirements and by designing appropriate automation and system solutions • offering a proven approach and methodologies to identify, develop and deliver control solutions • providing the ability to work across the entire automation/systems spectrum to provide an optimized and integrated solution • being vendor and technology independent • combining Hatch’s industry and Systems & Process Control expertise to identify and deliver process optimization solutions.
