Tynwald considers Report<br />

Department checks Votes and Proceedings and actions Tynwald’s decision<br />

Drafting Reports <strong>for</strong> Submission to Tynwald<br />

6.1 Reports represent proposals based on research by Departments, Statutory<br />

Boards or Offices and may be used, if approved by Tynwald, as the basis <strong>for</strong><br />

further work including the development <strong>of</strong> legislation.<br />

It follows, there<strong>for</strong>e, that the same care is taken in the drafting and presentation<br />

<strong>of</strong> Reports as would be applicable in the case <strong>of</strong> legislation.<br />

6.2 Reports should be produced using Tahoma typeface aligned to the left [not<br />

justified] and contain no underlining or use <strong>of</strong> italics and follow a standard<br />

layout. The details below should be adhered to –<br />

(a)<br />

The Report should be printed on white paper back to back and be bound<br />

as a booklet. Advice on possible options and the corporate identity <strong>for</strong><br />

Reports can be obtained from <strong>Isle</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Man</strong> Post Office. Refer to<br />

Government Corporate Identity Guidelines available on the Intranet<br />

NB: If the Report is presented <strong>for</strong> or on behalf <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Council</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Ministers</strong><br />

to Tynwald it must be bound in Yellow Card and have an<br />

introduction/<strong>for</strong>eword from the Chief Minister.<br />

(b) There should be a title page/cover with –<br />

(i)<br />

a Government Document number in the top left hand corner<br />

(See para 6.6);<br />

(ii)<br />

(iii)<br />

(iv)<br />

(v)<br />

the name <strong>of</strong> the responsible Department, Statutory Board or<br />

Office;<br />

the Government Crest;<br />

the title <strong>of</strong> the Report; and<br />

price if applicable (see Appendix 10 <strong>for</strong> prices <strong>of</strong> printed<br />

documents)<br />
