<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>UEFA</strong> media <strong>of</strong>ficer (in cooperation with <strong>the</strong> team press <strong>of</strong>ficer) to ensure <strong>the</strong><br />

stadium is clear <strong>of</strong> media 15 minutes following <strong>the</strong> scheduled or actual start <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

training session, whichever is later, and that all permanently installed TV cameras<br />

are switched <strong>of</strong>f.<br />

Official <strong>UEFA</strong> press conferences<br />

29.12 Each team must hold an <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>UEFA</strong> press conference <strong>the</strong> day before each <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>ir matches and one immediately after <strong>the</strong> match (post-match <strong>UEFA</strong> press<br />

conference). Official <strong>UEFA</strong> press conferences must always be held at <strong>the</strong> stadium<br />

where <strong>the</strong> match is to be played. Official <strong>UEFA</strong> press conferences have to be<br />

organised in cooperation with <strong>the</strong> <strong>UEFA</strong> media <strong>of</strong>ficer in order to help media<br />

representatives meet <strong>the</strong>ir deadlines in <strong>the</strong> countries concerned. Each <strong>of</strong>ficial<br />

<strong>UEFA</strong> press conference must be attended by at least <strong>the</strong> head coach <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> team<br />

plus one or, preferably, two players. Access to <strong>the</strong>se <strong>of</strong>ficial press conferences<br />

must be open to all accredited media representatives. <strong>UEFA</strong>-provided backdrops<br />

must be used at all <strong>of</strong>ficial press conferences.<br />

29.13 The <strong>of</strong>ficial post-match <strong>UEFA</strong> press conference at <strong>the</strong> match stadium must start no<br />

later than 20 minutes after <strong>the</strong> final whistle. Both teams are obliged to make <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

head coach, as well as at least one, preferably two players, available for this press<br />

conference. The <strong>UEFA</strong> media <strong>of</strong>ficer, taking into consideration <strong>the</strong> interviews for<br />

<strong>the</strong> broadcasters, decides on <strong>the</strong> order <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> coaches attending <strong>the</strong> press<br />

conference. The team press <strong>of</strong>ficers may be asked to provide interpretation.<br />

Mixed zone<br />

29.14 After <strong>the</strong> match, a mixed zone must be set up for <strong>the</strong> media on <strong>the</strong> way from <strong>the</strong><br />

dressing rooms to <strong>the</strong> team transport area. This area – accessible only to coaches,<br />

players and representatives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> media – is divided into areas with different<br />

access as determined by <strong>UEFA</strong>. The host associations ensure that <strong>the</strong> area is safe<br />

and not accessible by <strong>the</strong> general public or any o<strong>the</strong>r unauthorised people. All<br />

players <strong>of</strong> both teams are obliged to pass through <strong>the</strong> mixed zone but <strong>the</strong>y are not<br />

obliged to give interviews. <strong>UEFA</strong> issues <strong>the</strong> appropriate access passes.<br />

Accreditations<br />

29.15 Accreditation <strong>of</strong> media representatives is <strong>the</strong> sole responsibility <strong>of</strong> <strong>UEFA</strong>. The<br />

associations are consulted by <strong>UEFA</strong> for careful checking <strong>of</strong> applications received<br />

from media representatives from <strong>the</strong>ir countries. All applicants receive a written<br />

response to <strong>the</strong>ir accreditation application as soon as possible after <strong>the</strong> application<br />

deadline, which is announced in due time. Accreditation applications are processed<br />

via <strong>the</strong> <strong>UEFA</strong> online accreditation system.<br />

29.16 The final decision on acceptance or refusal <strong>of</strong> accreditation applications is <strong>the</strong> sole<br />

responsibility <strong>of</strong> <strong>UEFA</strong> at its entire discretion. In addition, <strong>UEFA</strong> may withdraw an<br />

accreditation at any time.<br />

29.17 Access devices for individual matches are distributed to <strong>the</strong> media by <strong>UEFA</strong>.<br />
