New USA headquarters for ACL
Atlantic Container Line, has purchased a building for its new corporate headquarters
in the United States, called Grimaldi House, located at 50 Cardinal Drive in
Westfield, New Jersey.
The 3,835 square metres building is a brand new three story structure. It is approximately
12 kilometers from the New York port and 32 kilometers from New York City.
ACL is expected to relocate to the new building during the 1st quarter of 2009.

Trolley Car
ACL transported a trolley bus from Baltimore
to Antwerp aboard one of its
ro/ro-containerships, the Atlantic Companion.
The piece, weighing 12 tons, standing
3.23 metres tall, 9.02 metres long and 2.62
metres wide was driven directly into one of
the three main ro/ro decks of the ship via
her 420-tonne capacity stern ramp.
Following the discharge in Antwerp, the
trolley was transported to France where it
will be used for passengers at Disneyland
Paris.

Award
ACL received the Canadian Transportation
& Logistics magazine’s
2008 Carrier of Choice Award. This
was the 7th consecutive year for ACL
to get this award. Over 2,500 shippers
submitted approximately 10,000
carrier evaluations in this survey.
According to the award, ACL surpassed
the industry benchmarks in
seven key performance indicators:
on-time performance, equipment
and operations, information technology,
competitive pricing, customer
service, problem solving, and valueadded
services.
The award is an indication of quality
service, widely accepted throughout
the industry and given for the previous
year’s achievements.
NBA Jam Van bounces onto Atlantic Conveyor
ACL transported the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) interactive basketball touring van, “NBA Jam Van”, from New York
to Liverpool aboard its ro-ro/containership Atlantic Conveyor.
The Jam Van is a 16-meter, 18-wheel truck that transforms into 1,000 square metres of basketball and interactive activities.
After a safe arrival at Liverpool the NBA Jam Van’s first European basketball tour programme commenced with the Tip off in Liverpool
July 26-27, reaching over one million fans, before traveling through France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
