Children’s Services Scrutiny Forum – 31 January 2011
7.3 (e)
dd) Through workshops and take home literature;
ee) Home visiting – seeing them in their own environment, evening and
weekend groups for working parents;
ff) I wouldn’t mind people visiting my home or going to the Centre;
gg) I feel that Think Family Services should be delivered to families in the
home and also the Centres;
hh) I was happy that the family worker came to my home to do my visits. I
don’t mind attending appointment but I preferred home;
ii) For all families to benefit from services, a possible small cost for some
groups;
jj) More weekend activities;
kk) I feel services delivered within the Centres are good. I am expecting
another baby and I am looking forward to attending breast feeding
support group, weaning, all about baby and ready for baby which will
prepare me for my new arrival, and will help me be a more confident
parent and more equipped to deal with a new baby. As I feel I
struggled with my previous children, as I did not attend services;
ll) I think the courses should be available to all families who are interested
and continue to be delivered;
mm) Fine as they are – always find out about activities through staff;
nn) Everything offered is excellent;
oo) Fine as it is;
pp) More events;
qq) Already been done; and
rr) Just as they are;
(3) In what ways can the Council / partner organisations ensure that
parents and their families get the support they need at the earliest
opportunity?
a) When they are pregnant;
b) Sending out information via post or telephone when an individual first
finds out that they are expecting;
