Congratulations to the Junior Boys team who have
progressed to the next round of the NZCT NZ
Secondary Schools Junior Boys T20 competition
after defeating Te Aroha last Monday (21st
February). Chasing a good score of 123 set by Te
Aroha, Craig Richards and Richard Tucker set the
platform with an opening stand of 89 – Craig
eventually going out for 39. Richard then
continued to anchor the innings and, with good
support from Maddy Aislabie, hit the winning run
to bring up his50 not out.
Well done boys – a great all round team effort
from everyone involved.
The Boys 1st XI had their first round of the Gillette
cup on the 24th February but at the time of writing
this article the game has not been played. The girls
play their first round in Te Aroha on the 28th
February.
All 3 teams have started their respective ‘league’
competitions with the boys 1st XI notching up a
couple of good wins. In the first week they
defeated Thames to win back the Sheppard Trophy
- Nathan Kane scoring 68 not out. He then
continued this form into the next week scoring a
century and was ably assisted by Thomas Prescott
(76) and Jordan Walker (39). Well done boys and
here’s hoping this form continues for the rest of
this term.
