(5) In the event <strong>of</strong> a modification <strong>of</strong> the establishment or any part there<strong>of</strong><br />

which shall include any modification to an installation, storage facility, process or<br />

nature or quantity <strong>of</strong> dangerous substances, which could have significant<br />

repercussions on major accident hazards, the operator shall review and, where<br />

necessary revise, the major accident prevention policy document prior to the<br />

commencement <strong>of</strong> the modification.<br />

(6) An operator shall implement the policy set out in his major accident<br />

prevention policy document.<br />

Notification <strong>of</strong> establishments.<br />

11 (1) It shall be the duty <strong>of</strong> every operator to send to the Central Competent<br />

Authority a notification containing the information specified in Schedule 3.<br />

(2) Operators <strong>of</strong> existing establishments shall, where necessary, amend their<br />

existing notifications drawn up pursuant to Regulation 11 <strong>of</strong> the 2000 Regulations to<br />

comply with these Regulations and send the amended notification to the Central<br />

Competent Authority within one month <strong>of</strong> the commencement <strong>of</strong> these Regulations.<br />

(3) Operators <strong>of</strong> new establishments shall send the notification to the Central<br />

Competent Authority within 3 months <strong>of</strong> the date on which these Regulations first<br />

apply to the establishment concerned.<br />

(4) Notwithstanding paragraph (3) it shall be sufficient compliance with that<br />

paragraph if an operator at least 6 months, or such shorter period as the Central<br />

Competent Authority may agree in writing before –<br />

(a) the start <strong>of</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> an establishment, or<br />

(b) if construction has already begun in relation to an establishment the start <strong>of</strong><br />

operation <strong>of</strong> the establishment<br />

sends a notification to the Authority.<br />

(5) An operator shall immediately inform the Central Competent Authority in<br />

writing in the event <strong>of</strong>-<br />
