Figure 5 provides an overview of major trends from
2007 to 2011, visualising growth outburst in 2009,
when ICA donors scheduled USD7.2bn as ODA
support for SSA, and North Africa experienced a
similar growth in 2010 when non-ODA commitments
peaked to USD7.0bn. In 2011 total ICA Members’
commitments were edged down to USD11.9bn,
59% less than previous year. North Africa received
a share of 18%, while 73% went to SSA, and the
remainder representing 9% (USD1.0bn) were not
allocated to any specific region.

and a detailed analysis of the trends in 2011, can be
found in Annex 9 (“Trends of ICA Commitments for
Infrastructure Development in Africa 2007 – 2011”).
