entry <strong>of</strong> c<strong>on</strong>signments will therefore be faster.<br />

For movement <strong>of</strong> seeds from a country outside SADC to a SADC<br />

country:<br />

•• When it has been established by the importing SADC country that the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>signment meets SADC requirements then the seeds can be moved<br />

to any other SADC country without further testing.<br />

In view <strong>of</strong> the above advantages it is c<strong>on</strong>sidered that implementati<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

the rati<strong>on</strong>alized SADC pest lists will result in c<strong>on</strong>siderable cost savings for<br />

the seed trade.<br />
