Objective<br />
The objective of this <strong>in</strong>vestigati<strong>on</strong> was to perform additi<strong>on</strong>al,<br />
complementary <strong>in</strong>vestigati<strong>on</strong>s <strong>on</strong> large diameter <strong>optical</strong> <strong>fibers</strong> to<br />
assess their possible use <strong>in</strong> plasma diagnostics tools <strong>in</strong> ITER<br />
The complexity of the problem resides both <strong>in</strong> the multitude of<br />
<strong>effects</strong> present <strong>in</strong> these <strong>in</strong>teracti<strong>on</strong>s, <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong> the great variety of<br />
<strong>optical</strong> <strong>fibers</strong> proposed as possible c<strong>and</strong>idates to operate <strong>in</strong><br />
radiati<strong>on</strong> envir<strong>on</strong>ments.<br />
