Dr Xiaohui Hou is a Senior Economist in the World Bank Institute at<br />
the World Bank Group. She joined the World Bank as a young<br />
professional and has worked in human development department in<br />
the Eastern Europe, Central Asia region and the South Asia region.<br />
Before joining the Bank, she worked on the impact evaluation of<br />
conditional cash transfer program in Mexico. She holds a<br />
Doctorate degree in the Health Services and Policy Analysis and<br />
Master’s degree in Economics from the University of California,<br />
Berkeley. She also received a Master’s degree in Health Policy and<br />
Administration from Washington State University and a Bachelor’s<br />
degree in biochemistry from Beijing University. Her field of research<br />
includes health economics, labor economics and development<br />
economics. She has published 12 papers in both economic and<br />
public health peer-reviewed journals. She also teaches as a visiting<br />
professor in the Southwestern University of Finance and<br />
Economics in China.<br />
Professor Dai Tao is the Director of the Institute of Medical<br />
Information and Executive Director of Health Policy and<br />
Management Centre, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences<br />
(CAMS) and Peking Union Medical College (PUMC). He is also the<br />
President of Chinese Society of Medical Information, the Deputy<br />
Secretary General of Chinese <strong>Hospital</strong> Association, the Chief Editor<br />
of China Health Policy Research, and the Chief Editor of the Journal<br />
of Medical Informatics. He was also appointed as the Consultation<br />
Expert on Health System Reform, Health Information, New<br />
Cooperative Medical Scheme, Urban Community Health, and<br />
Healthy China 2020 by Ministry of Health in China. He received a<br />
Master’s degree in PUMC and has been engaged in research on<br />
health policy and hospital management for 20 years. Recently, he<br />
has presided over 30 research projects and published more than<br />
70 papers.<br />
