Adjuvants are materials that can be tank-mixed with pesticides
to enhance their performance, though they themselves do not
have any pesticidal activity.
Sward is an adjuvant produced specifically for the amenity
market to assist in the suppression of casting earthworms. It is
formulated for use as a tank-mix with approved carbendazimcontaining
products, such as Mascot Systemic, and is a fully CRD
approved adjuvant. The effectiveness of carbendazim in
suppressing worms is very much linked to its availability to worms.
Sward enables the carbendazim to penetrate through the
thatch layer and move further down into the soil profile.
How to use Sward
Sward may be applied with
approved earthworm
suppression products within the
label recommendations for
amenity turfgrass situations. It
must not be used when turf is
under stress or during adverse
weather conditions e.g. frost,
drought, waterlogging, which
may leave the turf prone to
damage.
In the spray tank add Sward to
a concentration not
exceeding 0.2% of the total
volume.
