Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley Expands Service, Adds New Route
visitors have even more choices to see wine country in a unique way
All aboard for a new way to see wine country! One of the Bay
Area’s favorite modes of transportation now roams the quaint streets
and vineyards of the gorgeous Sonoma Valley, offering open-air views
that allow guests to experience wine country like they never have
before. And now, the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley has added a new
route, giving guests a choice of two memorable experiences.
Reservations may be purchased at www.sonomavalleywinetrolley.com,
or by calling 1-877-WINE-TROLLEY.
The new route begins at the historic Sonoma Plaza and meanders
into the town of Glen Ellen and the Kenwood area, including stops at
Benziger Family Winery, Imagery Winery, Paradise Ridge in Kenwood
and Deerfield Ranch Winery. This excursion is offered in addition to
the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley’s original route, which includes stops
at four boutique wineries located in and around the town of Sonoma.
Both tours are $99 per person and include a gourmet lunch catered
by the acclaimed the girl & the fig restaurant. The Sonoma Valley
Wine Trolley experience begins with a daily passenger pickup at
10:30 a.m. from the town of Sonoma's Historic Downtown Plaza.
Arrangements for pickup at several Sonoma hotel locations can be
made prior to 10:30 a.m.
“We’ve added this new experience to give visitors a chance to visit
more quality wineries in our area, and to be able to do that in a fun,
memorable way that is affordable,” says Craig Haskell, General
Manager of the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. “Guests are able to leave
the driving to us, while they sit back and enjoy the scenery and the
great wines.”
The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley is a hand-built replica of a
California Street Cable Car that was used in San Francisco from the
late 1890s to the early 1930s. Every detail from the all-wooden
carriage to the solid brass bell is an authentic feature. It is an open-air
cable car, allowing for a more sensory experience with unobstructed
views, and the aromas of the vineyards, especially during crush. The
wine trolley tours daily throughout the year, so guests are encouraged
to dress warmly throughout the cooler months.
The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley is owned by Appellation Tours, a
local company founded 11 years ago by Tom Buck. Tom and his wife,
Georgia, have successfully built a highly acclaimed limousine and
touring company, offering high quality customer service, comfortable
transportation, and knowledgeable drivers. These standards, the
relationships they've established with businesses in Napa and
Sonoma, and their drive to provide unique wine tasting experiences
for locals and visitors, are the foundation of this family-owned
company. For more information, visit
