Hyatt Carmel Highlands, located at 121 Highlands Drive in the<br />
Carmel Highlands, long known as the legendary location for culinary<br />
talent and host of the world-famous Masters of Food and <strong>Wine</strong> will<br />
serve as the lead sponsor and host of the opening event of the Big Sur<br />
Food and <strong>Wine</strong> Festival.<br />
Tickets are on sale now for $160 per person. Join them on<br />
Thursday, November 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. for the Gateway to Big Sur<br />
presented by the Hyatt Carmel Highlands and Big Sur Food and<br />
<strong>Wine</strong> Festival. The Gateway to Big Sur entices the palate in a<br />
celebration of local flair and regional flavor in the epicenter of<br />
culinary innovation.<br />
The Hyatt Carmel Highlands will be transformed into an<br />
enchanting oasis featuring 37 vintners and menu tastings from 18<br />
notable chefs.<br />

Big Sur Food and <strong>Wine</strong> Festival benefits local Monterey County<br />
charities. A portion of your ticket sales for the November 1 event will<br />
support: Apple Pie School, Big Sur Charter School, Big Sur Health<br />
Center, Big Sur Natural History <strong>As</strong>sociation, Big Sur Scholarship<br />
Recipient, Captain Cooper School, Gazebo School at Esalen Institute,<br />
Pacific Valley School and The Henry Miller Library.<br />
One of the primary missions of the Big Sur Food & <strong>Wine</strong> Festival<br />
is to donate a large portion of event proceeds to support local<br />
nonprofits that benefit Health, Safety, Education and Arts. In<br />
addition, it gives scholarships to talented Big Sur residents who<br />
would greatly benefit themselves and the community through wine<br />
and/or culinary education. In the last three years, the Big Sur Food &<br />
<strong>Wine</strong> Festival raised over $65,000 for the Big Sur community.<br />
