So far this year in total 662 foreign soldiers have lost their lives and compared to the 521
troops killed in the whole last year it shows an ever significant increase in troops' deaths
since the invasion in 2001.
The report further said the Afghan security forces "have proved a poor match for the
Taliban".
"Without outside support, (President Karzai's) government would collapse, the Taliban
would control much of the country and internal conflict would worsen, increasing the
prospects of a return to the destructive civil war of the 1990s," it said.
The think tank also slammed a peace strategy being pursued with the Taliban.
The report said the allies should focus on strengthening Afghanistan's political and
judicial institutions and work to overcome the "pervasive atmosphere of impunity".
The report on the Afghan war came as the US Defence Department has recently
admitted that progress had been "uneven" in the conflict in Afghanistan. (Tolo News)
Some Afghan Senators said on Sunday that parliamentary elections were full of frauds
and final results were announced ahead of time
Hailing the recent action taken by Attorney General's Office, Afghan Senators urged the
Office to continue its investigations over the frauds and violations in elections.
The senators said those involved in electoral fraud and violations should be brought to
justice.
Votes of Afghan people were misused in the elections process and this will make people
not to take part in the future elections.
