UPS25 Battery Backup Controllers
‡
Available only in HiDAN and HiDANplus Systems
The UPS25ER is a flexible PC/104 UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) subsystem, designed to work together with RTD’s power supplies to form a reliable UPS system.
The UPS25 routes power to your power supply module from either the main input or from the backup battery during main input power failure. It allows main power interruption
up to 30 minutes at 24 W (with our NiMH battery pack) while still maintaining complete computer operation. While the main supply is over 10 V, the UPS25ER will
charge the backup NiMH/NiCd battery pack using its on-board charger circuitry. Application software can interrogate the UPS status and power states at any time. An
interrupt can be generated when the main power fails and there is a status bit that indicates low battery charge.
Features
• Complete battery backup system for embedded CPUs
• Wide input range 10–40 Vdc
• Charger current limited to 1.2 A
• Battery output: +9.6 V nominal, 1.5 Ah
• Adjustable backup voltage trip level
• Charger modes: fast, top off, and trickle
• Battery temperature and voltage condition monitoring
• Two charger status LEDs
• Software controlled charger operation and diagnostics
• Battery and power disconnect after shutdown
• Fast Charge Termination Methods
• – ∆V/t and ∆T/t
• Maximum temperature, time, and voltage
