HighRel Systems & MIL Packaging RTD specializes in the design and manufacture of turnkey PC/104 systems qualified for the most demanding applications. RTD’s HighRel systems include the IDAN ® (Intelligent Data Acquisition Node) and the HiDAN ® and HiDANplus (High Reliability Intelligent Data Acquisition Nodes). Each system is built using frames milled from solid aluminum blocks to exacting specifications ensuring that your PC/104 system is rugged and reliable. Frames for thermally sensitive components have internally milled heat sinks and embedded heat pipes to move heat to the outside walls of the enclosure, allowing operation from – 40 to +85°C without the use of active cooling. Optional shock-mount bases withstand specific shock and vibration specifications. RTD’s rugged systems have a proven track record in high-reliability military, industrial, and aerospace applications. Selected Application Highlights “Accessing the Analog World” MRAP Vehicle A specialized RTD IDAN is mounted inside the newest MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles. Deployed worldwide, RTD electronics and enclosures provide high-reliability solutions optimized for worst-case scenarios. EMALS Program RTD HiDAN systems are used as a part of the U.S. Navy’s Elecromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS). This technology, which launches aircraft from carriers using a linear motor drive instead of steam pistons, is being developed for the newest Ford-class aircraft carriers. Howitzer Program An RTD shock-mounted HiDAN is a part of towed field Howitzers designed for high rate of fire. HiDAN blends ruggedization with cutting-edge technology to create solutions that withstand all weather conditions and extreme shock and vibration. Geological Surveyor RTD IDAN units operate within electromagnetic geophysical survey systems. These airborne surveys are conducted on four continents in a variety of climatic conditions ranging from arctic to tropical.
