STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES<br />
The following represent the strategic objectives identified for each <strong>of</strong> the six priority areas:<br />
VIOLENT CRIME<br />
To reduce gun crime and gang related violence through<br />
enhanced enforcement, prevention and education<br />
To reduce street robberies and non-institutional<br />
robberies<br />
To reduce domestic violence and repeat victimization<br />
To improve the quality <strong>of</strong> Missing Person investigations<br />
and prevent the violent victimization <strong>of</strong> persons<br />
reported missing<br />
PROPERTY CRIME<br />
Enhance interdiction efforts focused on break and<br />
enters, auto theft and identity theft<br />
Enhance targeting <strong>of</strong> habitual <strong>of</strong>fenders to interrupt the<br />
crime cycle typical <strong>of</strong> property crime <strong>of</strong>fenders<br />
Enhance the production, integration and dissemination<br />
<strong>of</strong> intelligence and crime analysis into day to day<br />
policing operations<br />
Improve external communications and public<br />
awareness relative to property crime and effective<br />
prevention strategies<br />
YOUTH<br />
Continue partnerships in the delivery <strong>of</strong> drug education,<br />
awareness and prevention programs aimed at youth<br />
and their families<br />
Enhance efforts to identify and address youth at risk,<br />
root causes <strong>of</strong> high risk or other anti-social behaviours,<br />
and opportunities for early intervention<br />
Continue the development <strong>of</strong> partnership programs<br />
that engage youth in positive social development and<br />
recreation opportunities<br />
Promote and develop appropriate community based<br />
intervention and diversion programming and restorative<br />
justice practices<br />
TRAFFIC SAFETY<br />
Develop enforcement initiatives targeting high collision<br />
areas, playground park and school zones, impaired<br />
driving, speeding, aggressive driving and seat belt<br />
infractions<br />
Partner with the community to improve awareness <strong>of</strong><br />
high collision areas, dangerous driving practices, and<br />
other traffic safety issues<br />
Develop, share, and act upon intelligence specific to<br />
traffic safety and collisions<br />
Support and contribute towards implementation <strong>of</strong> the<br />
<strong>RCMP</strong> National Road Safety Vision <strong>2010</strong> initiative<br />
