A bureau service is now available to those
customers who do not wish to produce their
cards in-house. Tyco Safety Products card
production bureau utilises the latest equipment
including image manipulation and digital imaging
software which is updated as technology
progresses. The customer should provide (or the
Tyco Install can arrange for) photographs or
digital images (preferred) to be sent to the
bureau.
Before any order for the cards listed below is
accepted. An order for the card setup charge
must be made. At the same time the customer
must supply all artwork etc. to allow us to
prepare a sample card. Once the customer has
approved this in writing, the order for the card
will be accepted and the cards manufactured.

order is manufactured and dispatched. Tyco
Safety Products Letchworth Card Bureau will
liaise the Tyco Installation business regarding
designs and supply.

magnetic stripe is UNENCODED. CUSTOMER TO

The Tyco Safety Products Bureau will then
provide a specimen card for approval and
complete the order).
After written acceptance cards carrying one or
more technologies can also be encoded prior to
despatch. Special equipment has been installed
for applying clear and holographic overlays to
cards, for high-security applications and where
additional durability is required.
The bureau will store all data and images securely
for retrieval at a later date, should cards need to
be re-isseud. Alternatively, they can be saved in a
number of file formats and sent on to the
customer.
To complete the process the following information
will be required before budget/fixed pricing can
be supplied:
1 Style of card required
2 Customer supplying artwork
3 Number of colours per design
4 How the photographs will be provided:-
- Photograph
- Electronic File
5 Number of sides to be printed
6 Order quantity
The customer must supply a design layout which
meets their requirements, together with any
‘corporate’ design restrictions and requirements.
The bureau will then produce a paper copy of the
layout design and/or a sample card. The
customer must then sign and return a design
approval document prior to the order being
completed.
The stock code numbers covering the card
layouts available can be applied to either a plain
white unencoded mag stripe card (636.001.802)
or the HID Duoprox II (662.001.904). These can
be printed on the front and/or rear face and have
the mag stripe encoded. All of the new part
numbers include the cost of the card. This is not
usually part of a proposal from outside suppliers.
We estimate that out cost will be approximately
20% lower than the suppliers used at present.
