Protect your right to vote
We’ve sent all Islington
households a voter
registration form to fill
out and send back to
us. You need to send
in the form to join the
electoral register. If
your name isn’t on there, you
can’t vote in next year’s local
and general elections. Plus,
it’s a legal requirement to
complete and return the voter
registration form to us – you
could be fined if you don’t.
The form is simple to fill in.
Just list the names of all eligible
voters living in your household
NOTICEBOARD
or let us know if there’s no one
eligible living there. Pop it
in the freepost envelope
and send it back to us… it’s
as easy as that.
Even if your household’s
details haven’t changed
since you last sent in a form,
you still need to tell us. You
can send a text message, call
us or go online – details are on
your voter registration form.

Free parking to ease
Christmas credit crunch
The council is making it easier for
you to shop local this Christmas
by offering free parking in every
Islington pay and display bay for
the three Saturdays running up
to Christmas.
That means on Saturday 5,
12 and 19, you can park for up
to two hours in any Islington
pay and display bay while you
get on with your Christmas
preparations.

traffic on Great Sutton Street

the day, our pay and display
machines will show when parking
is free. If you’re not sure where
it’s safe to park, just ask one of
the parking staff on duty. To give
everyone a fair chance, please do

Volunteers clean up
New River Walk
The council’s Community
Rangers have teamed up
with corporate law firm
Nabarro to clean up New
River Walk, a beautiful park
off St Paul’s Road with a
huge variety of trees and
history.
Nabarro allows its staff
to donate one day a year
to charity or community
projects, and staff members
have thoroughly enjoyed
sprucing up New River Walk
by pruning vegetation,
clearing the waterway and
building places for insects
and animals to take shelter.
One staff member said: “I’ve
really enjoyed doing the work
and it’s great to get out of the
office. It was nice to be out in
the community and see how
local people use the park.”

in the borough.
