<strong>VME</strong> / <strong>VME</strong> 430 / <strong>VME</strong>64x / VXI Backplanes<br />

Features of all WIENER Multi-layer Backplanes:<br />

Strip line technology suitable for data rates of 320Mbyte/s (64bit)<br />

High power distribution by current multiplayer / bus bar system<br />

Excellent RF shielding<br />

Well dispersed filter-capacitors<br />

Minimized ground shift and cross talk<br />

Automatic daisy chain<br />

Plugged flat cable for sense and control<br />

Provision for up to 8 temperature sensors (module temp. checking)<br />

Sense circuit protection by PTC- resistors (Optionally)<br />

On board filter capacitors (electrolytic and ceramic) are widely distributed. Together with a prudent<br />

power layer design this provides the highest filter effect against power supply and signal noise.<br />

Ground shielding layer encircles all signal lines which results in low crosstalk. A large current busbar<br />

system prevents effective DC ground shift.<br />

5, 7, and 10 slot types can be mounted together as a common ground Multi-<strong>VME</strong>-bus system. It is<br />

then possible to operate separate busses within one <strong>VME</strong> crate. A diode blocks on board generated<br />

Sys- Reset signals against the other backplanes. External generated Sys- Reset reach all<br />

backplanes in parallel.<br />

3U <strong>VME</strong> J1 and <strong>VME</strong>64x J1 backplane<br />

10 layer actively terminated backplane with active automatic daisy chain and active termination. 3U<br />

high <strong>VME</strong> J1 with 96pin DIN connectors meets IEEE-1014-1987. <strong>VME</strong>64x (<strong>VME</strong> 64 Extension)<br />

versions are equipped with 5-row (160pin) connectors. Available with up to 21 slots.<br />

<strong>6U</strong> <strong>VME</strong>64 J1/J2 backplane<br />

Meets ANSI/VITA 1-1994 and IEEE-1014-1987. Extended power layers and special current rails<br />

permit high power distribution. The 21 slot monolithic <strong>VME</strong> backplane features more than 300A<br />

current capability for the 5V, 15A per slot (at 70°C) with 96 pin connectors. Available with 7, 9, 10<br />

or 21 slots. Optional the J2 can be equipped with 160pin 5-row connectors.<br />

<strong>6U</strong> <strong>VME</strong>430 J1/Jaux/J2 backplane (CERN spec.)<br />

Based on <strong>VME</strong> 64 with J1/J2 the same performance is given. Meets CERN spec. V430 entirely. Five<br />

row 160-pin connectors are optionally available. Available with 9 or 21 slots. Jaux features:<br />

bussed and terminated differential signals: clock, start/stop gate, and clear<br />

ECL voltages –2V and –5V<br />

<strong>6U</strong> <strong>VME</strong>64x J1/J0/J2 backplane<br />

<strong>VME</strong> 64x outfitted with 5-row 160 pin J1/J2. Optionally with 133 pin hard metric J0. W-Ie-Ne-R’s<br />

special current multilayer made of z-bended copper sheets, further stiffens the 4.8mm thick board.<br />

Active on board termination and active automatic daisy-chain (CBLT compatible!). Available with<br />

up to 21 slots.<br />

<strong>6U</strong> <strong>VME</strong>64xP J1/J0/J2 backplane<br />

<strong>VME</strong>64xP like 64x but 18 layers with some special defined pins, and higher current ratings<br />

according to IEEE and VIPA specifications. Available with 21 slots only. <strong>VME</strong>64xP is also known as<br />

64x Standard for Physics or VIPA- Standard<br />

<strong>6U</strong> <strong>VME</strong>64x J1/Jaux/J2 backplane<br />

Our 2 in 1 backplane, compatible to 64x (without J0) applications and V430 modules. Features all<br />

voltages of both standards and full Jaux pin out:<br />

<strong>VME</strong>64x: 3,3V, 5V, +/-12V, 48V and<br />

V430: -2V, -5,2V, +-15V (via Jaux).<br />

<strong>6U</strong> <strong>VME</strong>64 J1/J2 backplane with power distribution (P47)<br />

Meets ANSI/VITA 1-1994 and IEEE-1014-1987. Extended power layers and special current rails<br />

permit high power distribution.<br />

The 16 slot monolithic has two P47 power connectors for cPCI power supplies on both left and<br />

right side and a control slot for the WIENER CML (slot 17)<br />
