Pointed Pen
S757. Yoro Pencil for Pointed Pen Practice. Use
this unique pencil for practicing Spencerian and
Copperplate. Similar to an oblique penholder for
pointed nibs, this pencil provides a similar offset
arm that holds the pencil lead. You or your students
can start learning movements and strokes in pencil.
HB lead. Choose color: Red, Green, Purple. $3.99
VINTAGE POINTED NIBS
N112. Esterbrook 356 Nib.
Great for smaller writing.
$2.00
N115. Esterbrook 357 Nib. Great for Copperplate.
$2.50
N116. Esterbrook 358 Nib. Great for Spencerian.
$2.50
Joe Vitolo's comments on these three vintage
nibs:
Esterbrook 356: Smaller nib, very flexible and great
for smaller script.
Esterbrook 357: One of the very few nibs that I like
as much as my beloved Musselman Red Box nibs.
They are similar to a vintage 303, but not as sharp,
and in my opinion, a little more flexible.
Esterbrook 358: A stiffer nib [that has been a
favorite of Michael Sull and Rosemary Buczek].
POINTED NIBS
N111. Hiro 111EF Nib.
We've had multiple,
enthusiastic requests for
the HIRO 111 EF nib and are now importing it from
Britain. Fairly stiff, smooth point. $.89
S620. Dappen Dish. These
small, wide-mouthed glass
containers with a relatively
heavy base are ideal for
holding gesso, ink or
gouache. They are widely
used by pointed pen
professionals. Peter
Thornton used a dampen
dish to reconstitute
prepared gesson in a gilding workshop that John
attended. He put a piece of prepared gesso in one of
these small shot glasses, added drops of water, and
brought the gesso to the correct consistency. He then
applied the gesso to his quill or pen from the
dappen dish. $1.85 each
S620-12. Box of 12 Dappen Dishes. $19.70. You
save $2.50. Purchase two or more boxes and pay
only $18.00 each. You save $4.20 per box.
Fine paper
A popular paper is now even better.
PS84. New Diploma Parchment.
Machine made in the
US, sulphite pulp, warm
off-white (beige), pH neutral.
Smooth wove finish. 177gsm.
Specify size: 17"x22" or
34"x22".
This bestselling archival sheet
is now even better. Easy to
write on and a little thicker
than most text weight papers, it is great for
certificates and one-off pieces. A paper you will use
again & again. Give it a try. The New Diploma
Parchment is a warm beige (off-white) and
recommended by Vivian Mungall. The old Diploma
Parchment was a yellowish cream. "This paper is
beautiful. When I first put my pen on this paper I was
amazed at how lovely it is, much better than the old
Diploma Parchment. I create many corporate
documents (resolutions), and I like how the paper
gilds and takes paint. We print logos with our Epson
3800 (a small professional printer) and the paper
takes the ink beautifully. There is no feathering or
bleeding. It is the same with the ink from my pen. The
new Diploma Parchment has been great. I recommend
it. It is a nice weight and is also fine for
handmade books." – Rosemary Buczek.
17"x22". $1.20 per sheet / 10 sheets $9.95
34"x22". $2.25 per sheet
SCOR-IT
S682. Scor-it Scoring Board.
12" Scoring Rule. $39.95
S683. Mini Scor-it Scoring
Board 6" Scoring Rule. $29.95
A fabulous tool that helps
you make quick, accurate,
professional folds without
pre-measuring and marking. The resulting scores/
folds (with and against the grain) are superior to
what you can do with a bone folder. Saves time too,
especially when you are making multiples of the
same item. Use it for cards & invitations, envelopes,
boxes & bags, stamping & collage art, accordion
cards and books, and much more. Great for
embossing lines and patterns. Works with paper,
card, vellum sheets (paper), and cover stock as well
as thin metal sheets.
