FP59. Pentel Brush Fountain
Pen. Carry an inked brush in
your tool kit, pocket or purse.
The synthetic fiber brush tip is
a bit longer than other brush
fountain pens. Has a fine point and a great spring
back. Highly recommended by Karen Charatan. It
is a little stiffer than the Pentel Color Brush (FP57,
$7.50), and therefore a little easier for beginners to
control. $17.95
FP60. Pentel Fountain Pen Cartridges. Box of 4
cartridges. Black. $6.95. JNB Price $6.25
WATERBRUSHES
Waterbrushes are brushes with a large reservoir. Fill
the reservoir with water and use the brush with pan
watercolors or watercolor pencils. A squeeze on the
barrel moves water into your brush. Fill the reservoir
with waterbase ink or paint and you have a brush that is
always filled with color. All are nylon brushes.
Niji Waterbrushes: FP79. Flat 12mm. $10.50
B3334. 100 Flowers: Chinese
Techniques for Painting Flowers by
Yang O-shi. 240pp. 8.25"x12". Paper
$35.00
Victoria Pittman has taught a
popular flower painting class for
many years at the summer calligraphy
conference. Her flowers are made with
a few strokes - ideal for envelopes, cards and small calligraphic
pieces. As a resource for that class, she highly
recommends this book: "This is a particularly good
book, with many great examples and great illustrations."
It provides sequential steps for painting 100
different flowers, from simple to fairly complex, along
with finished paintings. Does not cover the basics of
watercolor, just painting these flowers.
FP94. Koi Waterbrush.
