This report presents data on crime and arrests in Wisconsin during 2003. The first half of the
report presents statewide information on crime and arrests, together with individual sections on
each index crime. The second half contains more detailed crime and arrest information for
individual jurisdictions and counties within the state. Wisconsin is certified as a National
Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) state by the FBI, and is making a gradual transition
from Uniform Crime Report data to NIBRS across the state. It is expected that a significant
amount of WIBRS (Wisconsin Incident-Based Reporting System) data will be available in 2005
and 2006.

The statistics in this report are from adult and juvenile domestic violence cases in Alabama for
2003. For Alabama in 2003, 18,602 violent offenses were reported, with domestic violence being
indicated in 2,261 of those incidents; there were 1,927 aggravated assaults and 28,486 domestic
violence simple assaults. Aggravated assault and domestic violence simple assault data are
presented. The gender and race of victims and their relationship to their offender and the race
of the offender are provided. In addition, the report presents information concerning the
percentage of victims sustaining injuries and the percentage sustaining injuries by type of
injury.
