No matter which kind of <strong>com</strong>puter you have, it’s really important to sync your<br />

<strong>iPhone</strong> with iTunes before you begin your MobileMe experiment. Check your<br />

<strong>com</strong>puter’s address book and calendar programs, for example, to make sure<br />

that your data from the <strong>iPhone</strong> has indeed landed there.<br />

To <strong>com</strong>plete your setup in Windows, open the new MobileMe Preferences<br />

icon in your Control Panel. (It got deposited there when you installed iTunes<br />

7.7 or later.) Then follow the steps at www.apple.<strong>com</strong>/mobileme/setup/<br />

iphone/pc.html and www.apple.<strong>com</strong>/mobileme/setup/pc.<br />

To <strong>com</strong>plete your setup on the Mac, open System Preferences, click MobileMe,<br />

and then follow the steps at www.apple.<strong>com</strong>/mobileme/setup/iphone/mac.<br />

Finally, to set up your <strong>iPhone</strong>, start on the Home screen. Tap SettingsÆFetch<br />

New Data; make sure it says Push, meaning that changes that MobileMe picks<br />

up from other sources (Macs, PCs, or the Web) will be automatically beamed<br />

down to your phone.<br />

Then, again from the main Settings page, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you<br />

don’t see the name of your MobileMe account, tap Add Account and fill in<br />

your name and password.<br />
