YUMPU automatically turns print PDFs into web optimized ePapers that Google loves.

Next, tap the new MobileMe account name, turn on the kinds of data you
want updated wirelessly (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks), and then tap
Sync.
At this point, the copy of your data on the Web (the master information) wipes
out what’s currently on the iPhone. Of course, since you’ve recently synced
the iPhone to your computer, the result should be…no change at all.
How It Works
From now on, the Web and your iPhone are in instant synchronization. If you
make a change to your address book, calendar, bookmarks, or email on the
iPhone, you’ll find that the copies of those items at Me.com are updated in
seconds, and vice versa.
That’s even true with email: If you delete a piece of mail on your iPhone, or
file it into a folder, you’ll find that same message deleted or filed at Me.com. If
you reply to a message on the iPhone, you’ll find the response in the Sent Mail
folder online, and vice versa.
Now then, what about your computers? They’re part of the loop, too. Any
change you make on any device (Mac, PC, iPhone, iPod Touch, Web site), to
any kind of data (calendar, contacts, email, bookmarks), appears very soon on
all the other machines you’ve set up.
In short, MobileMe is great for keeping (for example) your computers at home
and at work in sync, or your desktop and your laptop—or all of them with
your iPhone.
Avoid editing calendar appointments or address-book entries on your computer
while a sync is going on (as indicated by the whirling arrows on the Mac menu bar
or the Windows system tray). The changes you make won’t get picked up by your
other machines.
MobileMe on the iPhone
Once you’ve turned on MobileMe on the iPhone, everything is pretty much
automatic. Just a few things to be aware of:
Turning off “push.”
• “Push” email, contacts, and calendar means that your
iPhone is updated instantly, automatically, wirelessly, whenever changes
are made to your email, address book, or calendar on the Web or one of
your computers.
