1. Course Work Requirement: The academic degree department must specify no more than four courses (including labs) totaling no<br />

more than 16 nor less than 12 credit hours.<br />

2. Performance Requirement: The student must achieve a term GPA equal to or greater than 85 with no individual course grade less than<br />

77 for all enrolled courses. Withdrawals or incompletes are determined on a case-by-case basis by the Director of Academic Services.<br />

3. Academic Advising Requirement: The student is required to meet with an academic advisor within the Academic Services Office.<br />

Any additional requirements that may be deemed appropriate by that advisor will be considered as an integral part of this agreement.<br />

4. Other Departmental Requirements: The department may list other requirements, such as attendance, which does not modify the<br />

course and performance requirements above.<br />

5. Academic Improvement Process<br />

Students with an academic status of less than good standing are required to develop and implement strategies for academic success with the<br />

assistance of an advisor. Through this process they may receive:<br />

• One-on-one student - advisor interaction regarding an analysis of the student's level of commitment and desire to succeed.<br />

• Strategies to change self-defeating behavior to achieve desired results.<br />

• Monitoring, support, and open lines of communication with involved faculty and staff.<br />

• Academic Support Seminars: Topics covered: study habits, learning styles, test-taking stategies, and time management/<br />

social setting.<br />

Academic Advisement is provided through the Academic Services Office, room 3-322, Academic Building. For more information on academic<br />

STUDENT ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER<br />

The Student Academic Resource Center (SARC) is designed to provide academic support to <strong>Kettering</strong> <strong>University</strong> students. The Peer Tutoring<br />

program is a free academic support service offered to all students. The SARC is staffed primarily by top <strong>Kettering</strong> <strong>University</strong> students who<br />

are able to assist students in all freshmen and sophomore level courses as well as many upper level courses. Peer Tutors are available 60<br />

hours per week. The SARC has a capacity of 50 students and provides an environment conducive to learning and studying. The Center has<br />

several computers available to students, some of which are part of the writing lab where a writing tutor is staffed part-time.<br />

Peer Tutors are available; Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday 3:00 to 8:00<br />

p.m. Residential tutors are available in the Residence Hall in unit 14. Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., workshops in calculus,<br />

chemistry and physics are also held in the Residence Hall. No appointments are necessary and tutoring is available to all students. Copies of<br />

schedules that indicate the availability of tutoring and workshops are available in the SARC and in the Academic Services Office.<br />

The Peer Tutoring Program and Academic Workshops are located in Room 3-342, Academic Building. For further information on the Peer<br />
