Globalization and increased cooperation will require those entering the 21 st century job market to be able to function internationally. Studying abroad will provide students with knowledge and experience that will give them a competitive edge to excel in the world market and set themselves apart from other students at other universities in similar majors. International Studies Programs are available to Computer Science students at Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences in Furtwangen, Germany, and the Fachhochschule Ulm (University of Applied Sciences) in Ulm, Germany. Students should contact the International Studies Office and their academic advisor for more information. Furtwangen University has a large, well-established international program that caters to a world-wide student audience. They attract a diverse student body from other European countries, South America, and Asia. Their program in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Digital Media typically offer eight to ten (8-10) courses per year. There may be some variation from year to year in which courses are offered. The single academic term at Furtwangen occurs during fall term normally during the Student’s Senior I academic term. Students can select from these courses at Furtwangen and receive up to 16 credits at Kettering University upon successful completion of the courses. These credits may apply to the student’s degree program as CS technical electives, toward a minor, or as free electives, depending on the courses selected. An International Studies Program is available to Computer Science students at the Fachhochschule Ulm (University of Applied Sciences) in Ulm, Germany. The single academic term at Ulm occurs during spring term normally during the student’s Senior II academic term. The effect on the 9-term representative program is shown below.
