KAHRAMAA<br />
celebrates World and Arab Water Days<br />
and GCC Water Week<br />
Water is a key element in development<br />
and indispensible for all social, economic<br />
and industrial development<br />
projects. Therefore, all nations seek to provide<br />
water continuously from all available sources to<br />
meet the water growing needs.<br />
Qatar organizes in March many water events.<br />
It joins the world in the observing World Water<br />
Day on March 22 every year, joins the Arab<br />
countries on March 3 of every year in Arab<br />
Water Day celebrations, and joins the GCC<br />
countries in observing GCC Water Week starting<br />
from March 22 as a reminder of the importance<br />
of this vital resource, the challenges<br />
GCC countries face to provide water and the<br />
need for preserving it for sustainable future development.<br />
To participate in the celebrations, the State<br />
of Qatar has been keen, through Qatar General<br />
Electricity and Water Corporation “KAH-<br />
RAMAA”, on organizing a number of event to<br />
educate the participants about the importance<br />
of water and ways of conserving it and reducing<br />
its waste pursuant to Act No. 26 of 2008 on<br />
the conservation of electricity and water.<br />
KAHRAMAA held many events this year to<br />
highlight the importance of this vital resource<br />
and stress the need to conserve it in order to<br />
achieve sustainable development.<br />
KAHRAMAA does not only observe this occasion,<br />
but also strives to fulfill its mission of providing<br />
water service to customers at the highest<br />
quality and lowest cost possible, based on the<br />
directives of the Emir HH Sheikh Hamad bin<br />
Khalifa Al Thani and Heir Apparent HH Sheikh<br />
Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani through Qatar National<br />
Vision 2030.<br />
