Doha to Host 10th GCC Water Conference on April 22<br />
Under the patronage of HE Minister of<br />
Energy and Industry, Dr Mohammad<br />
Saleh Al Sada, Doha will host for the<br />
second time the 10th GCC Water Conference<br />
on April 22-23, HE Engineer Issa bin Hilal Al Kuwari,<br />
President of Qatar General Electricity and<br />
Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), announced<br />
recently.<br />
The Conference is jointly organized by the Water<br />
Science and Technology Association (WSTA),<br />
Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation<br />
(KAHRAMAA) and GCC Secretariat General under<br />
the slogan “Water in the GCC States - The<br />
Water-Energy-Food Nexus” at Grand Hayat<br />
Hotel, Doha.<br />
This was announced at a press conference in<br />
the presence of HE Engineer Issa bin Hilal Al<br />
Kuwari, Eng Ali Saif Al Maliki, head of the Conference<br />
Organizing committee and Director of<br />
Water Network Systems at KAHRAMAA, Mr<br />
Raed Chehayeb, Managing Director of Interactive<br />
Business Networks (IBN), in addition to<br />
representatives of companies sponsoring the<br />
conference, a number of KAHRAMAA Managers,<br />
a large crowd of representatives of the<br />
sponsors of the conference and Qatar, Gulf,<br />
Arab and international press delegates<br />

Meet with Electricity Contractors on 2012 Plan<br />
Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation<br />
“KAHRAMAA” represented<br />
by Electricity Distribution Department<br />
(ED) held a meeting with electricity contractors<br />
in Qatar to familiarize them on Department upcoming<br />
2012 tenders. The department believes<br />
that the contractors will be better prepared to<br />
meet the requirements of the project and hence<br />
improve quality, also the tendering procedures<br />
become more competitive and transparent.<br />
A presentation was displayed on 2012 tenders.<br />
They are grouped under: construction<br />
(electricity distribution network works, direct<br />
service connections, civil maintenance works<br />
of electrical sub-stations, and construction of<br />
over headlines), maintenance (cable fault repair<br />
round the clock, disconnection of distribution<br />
services, maintenance of diesel generators),<br />
standby (supply of skilled technicians for load<br />
reading) protection (improvement of protection<br />
system, routine maintenance of system<br />
protection, and calibration of instruments), and<br />
condition monitoring (condition monitoring for<br />
equipment of electrical distribution substations<br />
11/0.4 KV and LV overhead lines of electrical<br />
distribution network).<br />
