General information
Equity
Fabric Panels incorporate a
gypsum composite core
construction. Fabric panels are
acoustical and fully tackable. The
base raceway is nominally 4 high.
Insert Panels are constructed with
a tapered aluminum frame that is
mitered in the corners. Insert
panels may be ordered with a
variety of standard insert options or
as an open frame for complete
accessibility through the panel.
Steel Panels and end panels have
a honeycomb core construction
wrapped with trim colored steel
skins. They are neither tackable nor
acoustical.
Bottom Access Panels allow for
air flow or utility access below
worksurface height while providing
a fabric privacy screen above the
worksurface.
Stack-On Panels connect on the
top of any standard panel to provide
additional privacy or new aesthetic
options and are also load bearing.
Door Panels are available with
either painted or laminate skins
mounted to a trim colored, painted
frame and natural aluminum
threshold. The 42 and 48 wide
doors provide a minimum opening
clearance of 32 and are ADA
compliant.
Post Connectors are 1 1/2
diameter and required at every
panel connection and panel end
(except when postless end assembly
is used). Posts are painted to match
the selected trim finish and include
an adjustable glide on the bottom
for leveling.
Fabric, Insert, Steel and Bottom
Access panels all accept electrical
components.
Equity panels distribute power
through the office and directly to
the individual work station through
field-installed modular, electrical
wiring components in the base of
the panels. The panel base is
factory prepared to accept a
terminal block in a centered
location
where two 20-amp receptacles can
be installed; one on each side of a
panel, arranged back-to-back. An
auxiliary side mount duplex
receptacle is also available and
plugs directly into the side of the
terminal block connector end when
a second duplex receptacle is
required.
The panel base is capable of
supporting up to 102 Category 5,
.20 cables (40 at 40
fill rate) without electric and 36
Category 5, .20 cables (14 at 40
fill rate) in an electrified panel.
The panel base cover provides
openings for receptacles and/or
communication outlets, which can
be covered when not in use.
All panel bases provide a cable
management segment to facilitate
lay-in of workstation cables and
cords.
Width dimension of all panels is
centerline to centerline of adjacent
post connectors.
Panel thickness is 1 1/2. Panel
thick- ness at the base covers is 2.

Environmental Impact
Equity takes great pride in
providing one of the most
environmentally friendly furniture
systems available on the market
today.
The Equity laminate furniture
system is manufactured with greater
than 40 percent recycled material.
A portion of the composite wood
products used in the manufacture of
the Equity system are derived from
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-
certified forests. None of the glues
or adhesives used in producing the
product contain volatile organic
compounds. The gypsum used to
construct the interior of the panel
contains at least 60 percent
recycled content.
Clean technology powder coating is
used on the metal components as
well as the pedestals and overhead
cabinets.
Low mercury, high-efficiency
lighting is used in all Equity lights.
The steel and plastic materials used
to construct Equity can be recycled
after the product’s life. The gypsum
used to make the interior of the
panel is 100% recyclable. The
system is also designed to be
cleaned with low environmental
impact materials.
The clean technology used to
manufacture the Equity system
results in negligible off-gassing
from the product. Equity is a
Greenguard-registered product,
awaiting certification.
LEED Credits
The sustainable design of the
Equity system can help customers
achieve the following Commercial
Interiors LEED credits:
Credit 4.1 and 4.2 Recycled
Content: The standard Equity
furniture system has a recycled
content greater than 40 percent.
More than 60 percent of the
gypsum used in the panel’s interior
is derived from the by-products of
the pollution control process used
to clean air pollutants at electric
powder plants.
Credit 7.0 Certified Wood: The
wood materials used to construct
the Equity system can be chain of
custody certified from FSC-certified
forests.
Credit 4.5 Low Emitting Materials,
Furniture and Furnishings: The
standard Equity system has been
tested and is Greenguard-registered,
awaiting certification.
