Lue, is the master key
to any party woman’s
salacious wardrobe.
With a zest for fashion,
Lue stepped out of her
comfort zone of self
doubt and scepticism
and created pieces that
became revealing,
neck breaking, show
stoppers.
“Fashion is what it is, right?” asks Lue
with a coy undertone.
On her 21st birthday, Lue had an
answer. That answer was to physically
step into the club with her very first
piece, her birthday outfit: a sequenced
pinkish bluish dress that glistened
stylishly with or without the lights on.
“I make my own stuff. I don’t follow
trends. I do what I want to do and I
make what I want to make! Whatever
I feel that day is what I am going to
make. Whatever colour I feel, that is
what I am doing.” All eyes were on
her as she enjoyed herself that night.
She received countless amounts of
compliments and vast support from a
close friend of hers who pushed her
into launching her self-titled pieces.
Malaika Lue’s education in sewing
began with her foster mother and that
gift of learning assisted in the mastering
of her first collection. Leaving college
to pursue her fashion dreams was “the
best thing that could ever happen
to me” Lue happily exclaimed. While
conceptualizing a design, her aim is to
create comfortable fitting outfits for
women that like to party, want to be
bold and stand out, be sexy and who
are simply tired of shopping at the mall.
Months into her fashion career, a very
shy Lue, began to market her pieces on
various social networks like Facebook
and Instagram. Although she was not
