Background and Education:<br />
Judge Doyle was born <strong>in</strong><br />
Hutch<strong>in</strong>son, Kansas, one of<br />
seven children. She graduated,<br />
summa cum laude, from<br />
Creighton University <strong>in</strong> 1982<br />
with a bachelor’s degree <strong>in</strong><br />
bus<strong>in</strong>ess adm<strong>in</strong>istration. In<br />
1984, she earned her law<br />
degree, magna cum laude, from<br />
Creighton University, where<br />
she was on <strong>the</strong> Creighton Law<br />
Review and published two articles: “State v. Bradley:<br />
Felony Murder Rule” and “Def<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Outer Boundaries<br />
of <strong>the</strong> ‘Drug Courier Profile’: Florida v. Royer.”<br />
Career: Follow<strong>in</strong>g her law school graduation, Judge<br />
Doyle clerked for Norman Krivosha, Chief Justice of <strong>the</strong><br />
Nebraska Supreme Court. From 1985 to 2009, Judge Doyle<br />
practiced <strong>in</strong> private law firms <strong>in</strong> Omaha, Nebraska and<br />
Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was a sole practitioner from 2009<br />
until her appo<strong>in</strong>tment.<br />
Community Activities: Judge Doyle was a board member<br />
and former president of <strong>the</strong> Hospice Foundation. She<br />
served as a board member and vice president for <strong>the</strong> Fort<br />
Dodge Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District, and<br />
was a board member of LifeWorks Community Services.<br />
Judge Doyle was a board member for <strong>the</strong> Young Women’s<br />
Christian Association. She is a member of <strong>the</strong> Holy Tr<strong>in</strong>ity<br />
Roman Catholic Church, and is a former member of <strong>the</strong> St.<br />
Edmond Catholic School Athletic and Music Booster Clubs,<br />
and <strong>the</strong> Creighton University Alumni Senate. She was a<br />
judge at mock trial tournaments.<br />
Professional Activities: Judge Doyle is a member of <strong>the</strong><br />
Webster County Bar Association and <strong>the</strong> Nebraska State<br />
Bar Association. She is admitted to <strong>the</strong> practice of law<br />
<strong>in</strong> Nebraska, Iowa, and North Carol<strong>in</strong>a. Judge Doyle is a<br />
member of <strong>the</strong> Iowa Judges Association. She served on<br />
<strong>the</strong> Advisory Committee on <strong>the</strong> Study of <strong>the</strong> Iowa Attorney<br />
Discipl<strong>in</strong>ary System. Judge Doyle was on <strong>the</strong> State 2B<br />
<strong>Judicial</strong> Nom<strong>in</strong>ation Commission. She served on <strong>the</strong><br />
Grievance Commission of <strong>the</strong> Iowa Supreme Court and <strong>the</strong><br />
Webster County Grievance Commission.<br />
Family: Judge Doyle is married with four children.<br />
