Message from the President of the
Alumni Society Board of Managers
I
am pleased to announce the
election of the following
individuals as new members
of the Alumni Society’s
Board of Managers. Each will serve
three-year terms that begin on July
1st and conclude on June 30th, 2010:
Erin O’Brien Dugery ’89, JoAnne Fortin
Hopkins ’93, Kellen Heckscher ’97, and William E. Rapp ’56.
In addition to these new board members, the following incumbents
have been re-elected to the Board of Managers to serve
second terms also ending in 2010: Frederic N. Dittmann ’71,
Peter W. Duncan ’53, and John H. Hodge ’62.
I am also pleased to announce that Holly Sando Rieck ’91
has been elected as an alumni trustee for a three-year term, representing
the Alumni Society on The Episcopal Academy Board
of Trustees. Holly joins Rick Northrop ’70 and Henry Nassau
’72. Both are currently serving as alumni trustees and their
terms end in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
On behalf of the Alumni Society, I want to congratulate both
our new and reelected members of the Board of Managers,
express my appreciation to those other alumni who have expressed
interest in serving on the board, and give thanks to all
alumni who took the time to vote.
I want to be sure that all Alumni understand that the Episcopal
Web site also provides a forum for the nomination of
candidates for alumni awards and the Athletic Hall of Fame.
Alumni are now able to go online anytime during the year to
make their nominations. Nominations received now will be automatically
placed into the selection pool for 2008. Moreover,
those nominated but not selected in any given year will receive
consideration in future years. I encourage all alumni to visit the
Web site and provide us with your nominations for the important
awards we give each year.
Finally, on behalf of the Board of Managers, I want to invite
all alumni to review our revised by-laws, which were approved
at our annual meeting during Alumni Weekend in April. They
can be viewed through the Episcopal Web site at www.ea1785.
org/reunions and on the Board of Managers link through the
Alumni portal. Any comments or questions about them should

Alumni Gather in California and Florida
Alumni living in Northern and
Southern California had a chance to
meet with Ham Clark and Clayton
Platt ’73, Director of Alumni, and to catch
up with each other while learning more
about progress on the new campus and
other news from back East. The alumni
communities are thriving in California
and it was a joy to see John Wager ’29,
Episcopal’s oldest living alumnus, who
made the trek to the Los Angeles regional
again this year!
This spring, alumni and Episcopal families
enjoyed a Phillies spring training game in
Clearwater, FL thanks to the generosity
of the Giles Family and the Philadelphia
Phillies.

Alumni Hit the Ice…
Twice!
More than 30 alumni hockey players returned to the
ice for two reunions this past December. The annual
Blue & White Ice Hockey Game, played at
the Skatium, was the perfect warm-up before the
2nd Annual EA versus Haverford Alumni Game held the following
week.
