LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP) 3.1 Criteria for Application and Cancellation of Procedures 3.1.1 Low Visibility Procedures for ground (LVP) will be applied when the following meteorological minimum is established as follows: - RWY visual range (RVR), value or - General visibility is 600m or below if the RVR is out of service. 3.1.2 The Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) will be cancelled when RVR value is 1000m or above for at least 10 minutes and with a strong tendancy to improve. 3.2 Entries to Runway Aircraft will proceed depending on the RWY in use: - RWY 12L: for civil aircraft, only through C1.1, TA, until A1; for military aircraft, only through TA, until A1. - RWY 30L: for civil aircraft, only through C2.2 and A5; for military aircraft, only through TA, until A5. 3.3 Holding Points The RWY holding point corresponding to the TWY entry for each RWY will be used. 3.4 Ground Movement Usually, while the Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) are in force, the taxiing of only one aircraft will be authorised in the manoeuvring area at the same time, in order to ensure runway safety. Aircraft guidance will be provided on pilot request. 3.5 Procedure Description 3.5.1 Pilots will be informed about the application of Low Visibility Procedures by TWR. 3.5.2 Due to the civil apron being out of sight of TWR, when the Low Visibility Procedures are applied the “Follow Me” vehicle will guide the aircraft until the threshold of the runway in use. 3.5.3 In the event of becoming disorientated or in doubt, stop the aircraft and immediately notify TWR. 3.6 COM FAIL Whenever an aircraft operating in the manoeuvring area suffers a communications failure, proceed as follows: Departing aircraft: must continue via the assigned route to its clearence limit, taking extreme caution to avoid detours. Once at this point hold position and wait for the arrival of a “Follow Me” vehicle in order to be guided to the assigned stand or holding position. 4. TAXIING PROCEDURES FOR B748 Due to the characteristics of this type of aircraft, aN autonomous stand called 14, placed between stands 12 and 13 has been defi ned. The parking of the aircraft will be realized by means of the TOAM guidance. 4.1 Arrivals The taxiing route for arriving aircraft is according to THR used, is described in the approach direction: a) THR 30R: leave RWY by A-1, taxiing by the parallel TWY TA to C1-1, then will access the apron to stand 14. b) THR 12L: leave the RWY by A-5, taxiing by TA to C1-1, then will access the apron to stand 14. c) THR 12R: leave the RWY by C-1, taxiing by TA to C1-1, then will access the apron to stand 14. d) THR 30L: landing manoeuvring is not allowed, due to TWY B-4 not being adequate for the size of the B748. 4.2 Departures The taxiing route for departing aircraft is according to THR used, is described in the approach direction: a) THR 30R: departure from apron by C1-1 to TA, turn left to A-5 and continue to THR 30R. b) THR 12L: departure from apron by C1-1 to TA, turn right by TA to A-1 and enter RWY. c) THR 30R: it is not allowed for take-off manoeuvring. d) THR 12L: it is not allowed for take-off manoeuvring.
