A registered Jersey animal must have full herd book status (certificate with green border) or a GR in front of the name of the animal. A registered Ayrshire animal must have stated underneath the heading of the registration certificate: pure or GR. OA (original animal) and PR (provisional register) animals are not eligible for registered classes. A registered Brown Swiss animal must have a full herd book six-digit number on the registration certificate or be a Step II identity enrollment animal (green certificate). Exhibitors can only show their identified project animals that were exhibited by them in prior classes at the Fair. All exhibitors must enter for this class on the County Fair Entry Form. No animals will be allowed to be bagged for the showmanship contest. Showmanship will be judged in the following manner: APPEARANCE OF ANIMAL 30 PTS. Cleanliness 10 pts. Grooming 10 pts. Champion Showman-Grades 11, 12 & 13 GRAND CHAMPION SHOWMAN 1 st place winners in Champion Showmanship Entry No. 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 Ribbon DIVISION 9 – Dairy Club Exhibits This class is to consist of four dairy animals, from a 4-H group or FFA chapter. Animals are required to be exhibited by at least three different exhibitors. Exhibits may be of different breeds and either purebred or grade. Only one entry is permitted from each group or chapter. No pre-entry needed. Club herdsman must give club or chapter name to ring officials. Class No. Premiums: $12 - $10 - $8 - $6 - $5 - $4 - $3 - $3 1. Best Group of 4 Dairy Animals Display and Tack Areas All dairy barns will open on Tuesday noon for set-up of displays and check cattle in and close at 10:00 p.m. The barns will be open on Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. All displays and dairy animals must be in place by Wednesday noon. A map for barn assignments will be displayed in each barn. Dairy superintendents will assign tack area on an equal basis to all clubs and open class exhibitors based on availability. Tack area can be used for exhibits, show boxes, feed, forks, pails, etc. If room is not available, all show boxes and materials must be stored in front of the animals or in trucks and trailers. Dairy Herdsmanship This class is open to all 4-H groups and FFA chapters. No County Fair entry is required. Two or more 4-H clubs or FFA chapters may combine their exhibits. If combined clubs wish to be judged as one unit they must have the same display. Clubs working together but wanting to be judged separately must have different displays. Open class exhibitors stalled with 4-H clubs or FFA chapters exhibits, will be judged as a part of the 4-H/FFA exhibits. Guidelines: Judging will be completed during the County Fair by as many clubs and agribusiness professionals as possible. Judging will be between 9:00 a.m. and must be completed by 9:00 p.m. 1.
