“Andros”
“Unbelievable. You can get there from Rafina in just one hour”
“I'm telling you, the wind was crazy on the first day, but it was wonderful”
“I was there for a modern art exhibition and fell in love with the island.
Why don't we go to Andros this year?”
“Green in the Cyclades? You mean something taller than herbs??”
“Yes, green! There are waterfalls too!!!”
“Bring back some cheese and sausages!”
“Andros is so close that it didn't sound very
convincing for holidays. And people kept telling me
about museums and sailing, so it was out of the
question. But when I first went there – dragged by
my ex actually – I totally changed my mind. It is
absolutely beautiful, the food is out of this world
and it's lively too. I happened to be at a feast, and
had a great time dancing traditional dances. Such
an embarrassment for a rocker!!”“
How to get there
Gavrio is linked with Rafina by daily ferries
(the trip lasts 2 hours, or 1 hour by fast
boat).
There are also direct routes to Tinos,
Mykonos, Syros and (less frequently) to
other islands of the Cyclades.
