4 Angeria-Alyki Angeria is a mountainous village in the south of Paros,
and features the monastery of Agii Theodori with its its view of the
Aegean. The neighbouring village of Alyki is a great chance to get to
know the flora and fauna of the island. The folk museums “Skorpios”
and “Anthemion” are located a short distance away. In Alyki, the ruins
of an ancient city can be seen in the sea.
5 Naousa-Kolympithres Boats connect the small port of Naousa with
the beaches of Monastiri, Kolympithres and Langeri. On the hill above
Kolympithres, at Koukounaries, are the ruins of a 12th century BC
Mycaenaean palace; ruins of an Early Cycladic cemetery are located
at the foot of the hill, at Plastira. Kolympithres offers options such as
slalom water ski zone, kayaks for rent, and the sea kayaking touring
club.
Alternatively, one can take the road from Monastiri to the lighthouse,
the most northern point of the island.

June. A fish celebration takes place in Naousa on
the first Sunday of July. A great feast celebrating
Sotiras (the Saviour) is organized on 6 August in
Alyki and Marpissa. Pirate evenings are
organised in Naousa on 23 August; on 28 and 29
August, people celebrate Ai Giannis in Naousa and Lefkes. The custom
which takes place on 3 November is a reference to Bacchic feasts, in a
celebration dedicated to Ai Giorgis Methystis (the Inebriator), an
inauguration for the local wines.
The representation of the Passions seen in Marpissa, Marmara,
Prodromos, Lefkes and Aspro Horio is unique.
Paros saves many gourmet surprises for the visitor: karavoli (escargot
garlic paté), rafiolia (small fried pies with skimmed-milk cheese), sea
urchin salad, gouna (sun-dried salt fish), roast stuffed fish, octopus

crushing of grapes and rakidi (production of raki)
and the accompanying festivities. Don't miss the
chance to dance at one of the several feasts
organized on the island which culminate in the
feast for Panagia Ekatontapyliani in Parikia in
