MAIN CHARACTERISTICS The apparatus holds a bath containing 14 litres and the filling opening measures 240 x 170 mm. Due to its special design the system is extremely quiet. The minimum temperature which can be reached is minus 90°C. Readout is in degrees °C or in °F. A pump provides circulation in the bath or via an external circuit. 61 Immersion Coolers / Cold Fingers Model KV40 REF 00T0212 (230V/50Hz), REF 00T212A (230V/60Hz), REF 00T0259 (115V/60Hz) APPLICATION The Tamson KV40 is a portable, compact immersion cooler that provides fast, continuous cooling down to –40°C. It can be used in conjunction with an immersion heating circulator if temperature control is necessary. The KV40 provides efficient cooling capacity and it eliminates constant cold trap hassles and the need for chemical refrigerants such as dry ice and acetone mixtures. Applications: • Rotary evaporator cold-trap condensers. • Cooling open reservoirs. • Vapour trapping. • Solvent trapping. • Impact testing. • Tamson TLV25. • Tamson circulators / water baths. • Replacement of Tap water. MAIN CHARACTERISTICS The KV40 is designed for heat extraction from fluid in viscometer baths. The combination of the KV40 and the low temperature viscosity bath TLV25, allows stable viscosity measurements at low temperatures down to minus 30 degrees centigrade. Temperature stability of the TLV25 + KV40 combination supersedes ASTM D445 requirements. The cooling probe of the system is formed by a nickel plated cupper coil at the top of a flexible hose. This probe can be immersed in fluid which has to be cooled down. The KV40 can be switched off via its main switch on the side panel.
